YAFF - Yet Another 5 Footer Falcon Build

I think it's amazing that you are doing this, and that you are releasing files. I have the files for both the radar dish and cockpit so far, and it blows my mind that I will actually be able to make those things. I would never be able to hunt down all the kit parts, to do it the traditional way, and probably couldn't afford them all if I did. You doing this makes this model accessible to so many more people.

That is the goal, I wanted one for myself - and like you doing it the traditional way was out of my reach - so started this project.
In the end its going to be about a year all up of just modelling - all files will be free for anyone who wants to invest the time into it.

I will be putting these docking tubes up this week as well - they are actually a really good starting point for someone, as are relatively pain free to print and put together

Docking Rings - the internals are done, just working on the actual outer rings at the moment
These have magnets on the back so they can be detached to give access to the mounting part.
Green bits are printed separately and stuck on to avoid supports on the main part. (the main part has zero supports for an FDM print)

Ok the Port Side Outer ring looks good to me,
I have a few tweaks to make, the gap on the inner ring is too noticeable so Ill add a bevel joint there to minimize that,
I am doing this the ANH one, and also an ESB one which will have the lower side red warning lights - and on the starboard side the ESB one will have the ramp as well.
Lots of fun

I can`t wait to get a hold of your files. Particularly looking forward to playing with the STEP files. This is extremely generous of you, Dazza! Absolutely fantastic work!

Gaza which Bambu printer did you get? These prints are amazingly clean.
It is a Bambu P1S - so middle of the range - but I am pretty happy with the quality.
I am also uploading Project Files for use with Bambu Printers, so should make things a bit easier.
They look like this for each major part - where two parts slot together they have a beveled sort of guide so makes it pretty easy to slot them in

Cheers - Anyone here can have a sneak peek if you want (be a bit of a guinea pig) - I haven't uploaded them all yet, but most of the docking Tubes and Rings are there, as well as the Cockpit and Radar dish I released earlier. (Also STP Files, including the individual components I modelled)

Going through and uploading more - this will be the main link to all of the files.
Keep in mind its a work in progress, like a year long project, so some things will take time

Thanks so much. I love the mulitcolor option with the Bambu. Might have to make a purchase. :) I could never get such a finish with my Creality printers.

I have an X1 Carbon, so having the 3MF files will be amazing! For some of the parts it might be time to swap in that 0.2 nozzle I've been meaning to try.
