Best Cap shield replicas?

Ohh. I didnt understand what you meant.
Man for 4K I’d be upset to not have a full metal replica

The TFA was all metal and machined

Oh wow. Okay, I thought it was just the paint job giving it that look but looking at it more closely...

Yeah, watching those reviews again you can see the grooves don't continue under the handle brackets. And the grooves themselves do look stamped.

$4k shield smh

If a new replica moves forward, I think sticking with the proportions of the Masterworks is my vote.
Also, I concur that this shield is assembled from a number of parts/sections, including the entire back panel being a separate piece that looks to be cast, which I would be fine with because I definitely want it to match how it looks on screen.
We see the back of his shield much more in Winter Soldier than TFA, and it definitely looks like a casted section.
A good paint job will do it right.
As far as 4k for a shield that's not all metal, remember guys, part of the appeal of the Masterworks is that is made by the same people using the same materials and methods as the original. You're getting absolute authenticity, which is why it's being called a "prop duplicate" and not a "replica".
I vote to go the same exact route, everything replicated but without those ugly claw marks.

Ok. Not to my tastes if so.
The TFA Shield was a completely machined metal prop. That’s what’s im after. The original prop to me was the best.

The cast stuff started with winter solider.
I’m sure you guys will be able to fill my spot but if I wanted a cast piece- the King Arts is a pretty good representation that just needs a better finishing job.

This is definitely a case that will go to vote IF and only if Relicmaker chooses to move forward with another run. I have zero say in this individually, I'm just the OP.

Let's not forget that whichever route we go, the nature of the star section assembly and all the extra tooling that'll be required for this product will drastically increase the price, surpassing what Relicmaker's original version sold for.
I've seen many runs over the years have dropped interest once prices are announced, so I'm saying this here right now, don't even throw your name in the hat if you're not comfortable spending upwards of 2k, because with such a small run and expensive tooling and R&D hours involved, this project will not be cheap.

I suppose I would still be in at that price yeah. I could always sell some of my other shields in would no longer need.

Ideally I want to see a fully machined one though. There are different sized shields, CGI shields, metal shields and other, and I feel like this needs to be the perfect representation of what Cap's shield is intended as, and not of one version of the prop itself, when we can fix small defects like the wider ring which doesnt appear on later versions.

His original run was $899- if memory serves. It wasn’t crazy expensive

Relicmaker told me it will be more expensive this time as the project is not an easy one but it will be screen accurate if he can still get his vendors to make it.

If you want the best shield available today, then this may be your only option whatever the cost turns out to be unless someone else steps in to do it better and cheaper.

Count me in if it meets the criteria articulated throughout this thread.
Can we expect an official interest thread?

Although I would prefer a machined back, if the cast is done at least in metal and looks the part then I'd be satisfied

Another idea for those (including myself) that are thinking of cost, maybe it could be a good idea to offer both finished shields and unfinished ones? Whether that be assembled but unpainted shields or even unassembled kits?

I was already suspecting unfinished is the way to go...maybe because I operate a finishing service and want those commissions!

Does anyone have any direct contact with the guy from Shield Labs? I was waiting on a replacement shield and now it says that user no longer exists on Etsy. It appears they have reoppened under a different name: PropCentralStudio, but I am getting understandably concern given that they were already not responding to my messages.

He moved to Shopify. Home page

Oh yeah, PropCentralStudio on Etsy.

Are his wares China made and then he finishes them? Pretty good price on that metal Thor Hammer he sells but I wonder about the quality.

He finally responded when I texted him at the number in one of his emails. Naturally its disconcerting to not receive any responses to inquiries and then suddenly get the message that the shop is no longer open.
