I often fail when shopping.
Plastic molding molds will deteriorate if they continue to be used for a long time.
However, I was very shocked when I saw this. lol

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I don't see it on any of the part maps. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong ones.

On the FALGA Panel, there's an exhaust cover from the 1:35 Nichimo Tiger II. Inside that, I believe, is the machine gun port from a 1:48 Bandai Tiger I.

Sorry, if I'm posting something already known.

Dave, yes, that part was identified many years ago!.

In an effort to save effort that has already been done. These 4 boxes are marked as ? on the various part maps, but are they still unknown? Have these been ID'd without the maps being updated?

thanks

The two outermost have been ID'd as the Payhauler but I haven't been able to piece it together yet.. I believe the third dot is just part of the M60 grill. I haven't found the other yet, but here is a better pic.

Okay great. I'll rummage through the big trucks this afternoon. I think you could be correct about the M60 grill. In some photos it looks like it's sitting on a box, but perhaps not.

Well, my laser eye surgery not withstanding, apparently my eyesight sucks. I have spent the better part of 2 hours pouring over the Payhauler, the various big trucks, and even the Allied Van Lines trailer (which as far as I know is only a source for decals), and I have found nothing that would work for the three required 'boxes'. Not even if you started cutting up parts.

The image above shows panel lines on the box under the Jagdpanther exhaust stack, but on the real model, those panel lines do not seem to be there.

I guess I'm just blind.

There are two parts called Payhauler, but I don't think it's Payhauler. There are parts that seem to fit in size, but all of them have rounded corners and are not pointed.

Small correction on the part maps. 'Starboard Sidewall Rear' (and anywhere else this casting is used) calls for using the jack from #61 Hummel.

The top one is from the Hummel.

The lower one is the jack from #62 Assault Gun IV. It has the little holes in it.

Thanks Stu. That yellow box on the bottom photo looks quite close. Do you recall what part of the payhauler you used for that? Part #126 is the only 'box' with slanted walls I see, but you would have to have cut it in two and removed the centre? It doesn't look like you have a join in yours, unless you hid it very well.

I'd planned on scratch building the other two boxes.

Also interesting to see how you had cut the Hurricane wing. That's helpful too.

thanks

I can't recall what Payhauler part/box structure I used, but I do recall sanding the crap out of the sides to get the correct slant!. I didn't cut this in two at all.

Another small correction on the part maps.

The below, I believe, should be part D3 of the #122 Nichimo King Tiger 1/48 scale. The part map lists #123, the Nichimo Elefant.

This observation is largely based off of Stu's images above, and some additional review of references. The Elefant does have a similar part, but it can not possibly fit.
