...continued from my last post.
...So yes, the pen needs to be sprayed in chrome and the penlight needs a clear tip and white painted button, but why stop there? Why not try and embed a light element IN the penlight under the clear plastic tip just like the original, LED tech is advanced, small and cheap enough. All we need to do is figure out how to get these components to fit, how to get a battery and a light in there, what about the On/Off switch? Drill a tiny hole onto the side maybe? What about being able to change the battery? The picture in my mind was not pretty....
...That is when the light turned on (pun intended).
We don't need to do all that. That work had already been done for us. All we need to do is to figure out how to fit these very cheap, mini party balloon lights Into the penlight cast:
As long as the diameter is smaller then the top of the pen it is do-able. And even better, they crew for On/Off and provide for access to the battery. Drill a hole just deep enough to glue the bottom part in and leave the top bulb cap sticking out, glue the clear cast of the pen tip on to the bulb cap, and wallah, there we have an On/Off switch, easy access to replace the battery, and best of all, once the cap is screwed on it looks just like any other Berec penlight!
Will it fit?
Cap:
Unscrewed and cap glued on so access to battery is simple.
