Limited Run 1979 ALIEN - NOSTROMO CREW UNIFORM

NostromoCrew Since the crew wears the off-white shirt except for Ash, will buyers request either the lighter or darker border Nostromo patch? Also, if ordering a Kane of Dallas shirt, is there a choice between your wavy vs straight wings patch? Can you show a sample of what you'll be using for the pink piping?

ALIEN Nostromo Crew Shirt - Very Accurate Replica

I’m in the process of making myself and a few friends some very accurate copies of the buttoned down shirts the crew of the Nostromo wear. It would be a shame not to offer this out and see if anyone else would be interested.

Some details that will set this run apart:
I have been very fortunate to receive indirect access to the original screen used garment that is part of Bob Burns's collection, Thanks to the very generous assistance of Mr Steve Laboyteaux stephen210. This includes accurate measurements of all the elements of this shirt, fabric type and the best estimate, so far, of the original color of the fabric when It was new.

  • Fabric: 100% linen, Medium weight. Very close to the same type of linen used in production.
  • Color:
    • Seafoam Blue/Green-ish for Ash.
    • Ivory off-white for the rest of the crew.
  • Design: This is an extremely accurate copy of the design produced for the film. Shirt pattern, elements and dimensions are all almost 1:1. All based on measurements done on the screen used garment.
  • Buttons: Custom made, never before reproduced, copies of John Mollo’s spring snap button design in brass with a yellow golden finish. photos and video below.
  • Wings:
    • Dallas and Kane: Gold and Silver bullion, extremely accurate design. (I make these separately over the past few months)
    • Ash, Ripley And Parker: Blue embroidered wings.
  • Elements:
    • Pen loops
    • Name tag space
    • Full round ended epaulettes
    • Arm pocket.
    • Custom made copies of John Mollo’s spring snap button design in yellow gold.
    • One Nostromo Shoulder patch.

Size selection:
Standard American S-M-L-XL

Price:
$180-300
per piece, if there is significant interest that would justify out sourcing some elements of the production, the price could go even lower than $160.

If you are interested please comment bellow what type of shirt, Seafoam Blue or Ivory and Size shirt.
This is still very much a work in progress.

Thank you!
Adam

Custom made spring snap buttons:
(when new they were yellow golden. They develop a patina over time)

Plus a short video to appreciate how beautiful these are, yet they were hardly even noticed on film:

Whole shirt:
(Ignore the color of the Olive green fabric, this was made just in order to work out the pattern)

I am definitely down for one of each.

Yes, stand-by, more details incoming.

Hi Banzai88, I have only recently managed to zero in on a very, very close to screen accurate pink piping material, it is a rayon 1/8' piping cord with 4 inner strands with a lip, 3/8" wide in total, it is a shiny off-pinkish in color, not barbie pink. Very soft almost silky in texture. If you look closely at some of the photos of the original you can actually notice the cord (thick, round) and lip (thin, flat) and the inner strands at the frayed tips (white).

Regarding the wings and patch selection, well I don't see why not to let everyone choose their preference.

Being that this is still an interest thread, things can change, depending on demand, cost, time, reasonable price at the end (very important). I am trying to gather as much interest so that we have more people on board thereby possibly outsourcing several aspects of production and drive the price to a more reasonable range for more people.

I hope this answers your questions,

Nice!
Certainly interested [in Ivory], but don't think I'd be able to afford for quite some time.

Any thoughts on possibly offering the buttons only, for those that what to "accurise" a [home-brew or Magnoli, etc] shirt at a later date?

Thank you sir!
Well, it will all depend if after all is said and done I have some spares, then yes, for sure.

OUTSTANDING work Adam!! Your attention to detail is something dreams are made of. Thank you for letting me be a small part of this project.
This is something that I was wanting to tackle many times over the years but I must say that you have far surpassed what I would have attempted.
I can't wait to get my hands on one of your shirts. BTW.. your wings are simply amazing too! GREAT JOB!!
