You know, facing parts is an under appreciated thing. I once got just a 2cm long disc of aluminum from a shop and they must have just hand thrown it on the bandsaw. That thing was so crooked… a friend on here fixed it for me in his lathe and I got back this part with just a perfect flat surface...

Hello there,

first part of the list finished! the back plugs for the Barbican version + a few extras if people want those for another version also or to buy individually.
I'm very happy with the result, my fabricated tool for the half round groove worked a charm for the whole run, all perfect!

now, all carefully stored away with paper towels in between so the parts stay pristine until the end of the run I see some guys from shops tossing aluminium parts into bins when they get out of the machine, makes me sick ahah! with all the time spent on my parts, I want them to stay perfect

In this thread early on eethan posted the paper template for the Barbican.

Severed hand is approx 110mm x7

ANH square shroud approx 92mm x7 (similar to the mpp)

I am not finding my post anymore with the grip length, sorry! but yes,
Barbican approx 110mmx7 straight cuts, the template will give you exact size and shape for the grips (there are just 6 grips on the Barbican now, so it's your choice if you want 6 or 7 grips)
Severed hand approx 110mmx7 straight cuts
ANH square shroud approx 92mm x7 (most likely with a 30° angle on both ends)

yes no worries, pommel plugs will be available individually when the sabers are released and I have made 10 extras compared to what was needed for the Barbicans, so there should be plenty enough

Hello there,
I have 3 updates for you guys today!

first, I received a bulletproff shipment from Roman today, so that's good news, clamps are here for the assembled sabers! one things off the list!

second update, we have validated the final design of the activation cards replicas with Slothfurnace and he has launched production today, just have to wait and see for the result for those but it's exciting to have accurate clamp cards as well!

and finaly, I have finished a second part for the run, the back ends of the tubes, pretty complex part
all 91 of those packed and put aside until the others parts are finished as well :

some crazy close ups with the macro lens of my phone, those are extreme macros, pretty normal to see machining lines on those

alright, I think i'll try to finish the cores for the Barbican and square shrouds tomorrow then move back on the actual shrouds themselves!

hey there,

so, the aluminium cores for the square shroud and bronze cores for the Barbican are finished. I'm am now back on the shrouds themselves and have started the milling opperations on those. The first op is a big one, bringing the square part to the proper assymetrical final dimensions, pretty time consuming but it is going well so far and I have finished 21 of those.
This is the part where the shrouds are starting to look really nice!

I'll continue on the milling opperations until the square shrouds are finished. When milestone is reached, i'll finish the body tubes and the Square shrouds variant will be put for sale early for the people that were interested only in this variation. Then i'll continue on the other two variations as previously explained

Timing update:
I tried to calculate a bit my progress today and the run is a bit delayed. Nature (thunderstorms in the begining) and life got quite a bit in the way since the start sorry! So, it's hard to be super precise, but I'm expecting the square shrouds to go for sale around second half of August I think and the main run with finished hilts and all will probably be in September now. I'm sorry for the delay and hope you guys are staying with me! I'm trying my best working on this and providing as many updates as possible, i hope you like it!
