The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

Hello,

My name is Jeromy Warner from Your Geek Fix on YouTube. A couple of weeks ago Chris Barnardo of the Wand Company and I went to TESTED to show off the final working Tricorder. After, we unboxed it together on video. You can check it out at
beginning at 5:00 AM CST on June 3rd 2024. The good news is that it is coming this year and that it is AWESOME! You will not believe everything is does and the work that went into it. It was so much fun playing with this thing. It works exactly as I would picture the tricorder would work in real life. So, check it out and be encouraged, it is here!
Great video yourgeekfix (Jeremy)! I’m looking forward to seeing more features when the TESTED video drops.

Wow, what a wonderfully in-depth and candid look at the tric! I was already on board, but doubly so now. Of course, one could nitpick some of the choices made, but in my eyes, TWC does an incredible job at balancing prop details and idealizing certain things for the real world. The removable 18650 is a HUGE plus too. Makes keeping it plugged in less of a long term concern.

Very impressive product! Can't wait to get my fat little mitts on mine!

The moire pattern settings were also super nice, I do hope there's a way to turn off the illumination of the dial but I didn't see one in the settings menu.

I love that the memory discs change the function by detecting the color of the disc, that's delightfully simple. I likely won't be pulling out the discs all that often, but that is just such a cool implementation.

Looking at the Engineering screen in Your Geek Fix's video, one tidbit there is that the SD Card slot seems to still be in play.

LOL! I will say I loved playing with this. I was sticking it up to power sources to measure electro magnetic fields, watching short films, it has every captains log, etc, etc...
Wait? What?! "Watching short films"?!?!?! Can this play videos?! Or are you talking about the three "Archives"? Either way, do you know what format those files were - ie were they actually videos or were they gif files, or...?

It's cool that they got the original audio files for the logs. :)

Great catch!

I didn't screen shot it, but I noticed on one of the two videos a reference to a "usb update" function as well.

I appreciate the sensors being in the bottom, since you would see the actors hold it out that way.

Was there a scanning sound effect in there anywhere?
