The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

Put more than two alarm clock options in there and I'm interested.

(most alarm clocks these days only allow two and due to my weird schedule I need six ............. no I won't get a smart home device for this purpose, don't need Amazon or Google listening to me while I sleep)

Do you have a smartphone? The default clock app in Android lets you create unlimited alarms.

My Master Replica Tricorder will have be moved from the table….….to my general STTOS collection ….and replaced with TWC version

The moire pattern settings were also super nice, I do hope there's a way to turn off the illumination of the dial but I didn't see one in the settings menu.
I had an email conversation with Chris Barnardo and he said the latest idea is that when the moiré is set to manual, i.e. the position determined by the user, this will also deactivate the backlight.

I also asked about the scanner sound effect but he hasn’t answered yet.

That's excellent news! I like Chris, he's been absolutely ace in the videos I've seen him in recently, he's passionate about product design/engineering, and he's realistic with the business but pushes for a products that take some big swings.

Good news!

Any way you could suggest swapping out the cool white LEDs for warm white? It breaks the '60s feel to have a color temperature that wouldn't have been possible at the time.

That makes perfect sense. We don't see it rotate on the tricorder, but we do on the bridge, and that one is backlit when moving. How good of a look do we ever get at the clockwork moire on the communicator?

I like the daylight white moire backlight the way they have it. Warm white always feels dingy to me. All my LED bulbs at home are daylight.

I guess I can see that, but if the prop had been backlit they would have done it with grain-of-wheat bulbs and it would have had that "dingy" look.

I just feel like it sticks out being so modern, IMO.

I think this the first prop where I will actually be getting two!!! One on permanent display and the other right by my side....my girlfriend is oh so going to call me a geek/nerd until I die after this...well she already does actually...lol!

Any know if there if the tricorder will have all series SFX? I think the Wand Company mentioned it but it was not on shown in the Adam video.

True enough--I guess it depends on where you draw that line between the prop replica and the idealized equipment that Chris talks about in the videos.
