The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

Expressed interest 7-21-20. Ordered from Amazon UK 4-23-25. Enroute to US (St. Louis, MO) until arrival 5-12-25. Delivered by USPS in perfect condition (except for exterior carton) with Maersk being the original international carrier. No tariff! Charging now. Worth the wait!
Yeah, my exterior box was a bit beat up too, but nowhere near as bad as some photos I've seen. Looks like these things get really tossed around by either Maersk or Amazon UK or both, maybe USPS too. Good thing Wand has them in that inner shipping box. That thing was pristine.

Congratulations!

Two fun notes:

  1. There's rain in the forecast, so I've been tracking the barometric pressure on my tricorder. Not only is the tricorder showing the drop in pressure over time, but it's only 0.07% at variance with the official source I checked. Pretty cool.
  2. My scanner shipped, it's arriving Wednesday! Yay!

You know…my Stines scanners didn’t fit in the bottom compartment of my MR Tricorders (I couldn’t close the door with the scanner in place):

I’ll have to check to see if they fit in the bottom compartment of the Wand Tricorder…

I'm guessing thr tricorder's baro pressure is accurate. My guess is the official source is probably a mile or more away.
I've been a pilot for almost 50 years, local conditions can vary it by those small amounts.

Mine finally showed up! The outer box was a bit beat up, but the inner box and product box were perfect. It’s charging now and I haven’t turned it on yet. But I love what I see so far.

One thing I noticed, it has zero reference to “Made in China” anywhere on the outer shipping box. Maybe that’s how it went through customs so quickly.

Oh also, it was obvious the inner box and product box were opened and resealed. Evidence TWC inspected and tested it before shipping it to Amazon UK.

Nope…the same result with the Wand Tricorder…the door doesn’t close with the scanner in-place.

Also—add the cheap plastic dividers in the lower compartment of the Wand Tricorder to my list of nitpicks.

The metal (steel) dividers of the MR Tricorder are far more accurate to the original.

Even laying it horizontally into the recesses that were deliberately modeled into the compartment dividers?? Not sure why you'd try to put it in vertically like that when it's designed to hold the scanner horizontally in the two cut out panels.

The Tricorder could only hold the scanner the way I previously showed it (vertically vs horizontally) due to the middle divider in the lower compartment.

I suppose one could place the scanner in the lower compartment, inaccurately (horizontally).

I would rather follow the proud RPF tradition of demonstrating a lack of gratitude and just complain about it.

;)

I suppose one could leave the divider(s) out of the lower compartment and place the scanner in the lower compartment, inaccurately (horizontally).

My outer box was only a bit dented here and there--yours is seriously beat up! Wand definitely did us a solid with that inner shipping box.

I can see how your med scanner perfectly fits in the lower compartment on the cradle, as designed.

My med scanner will be here Wednesday.

Meanwhile, we've got rain coming tonight, and I've been tracking the drop in barometric pressure with my tricorder. It's gone from 1016.53 hPa several hours ago to 1013.65 most recently, and when I checked an online source for my local pressure, the tricorder's figure was only 0.07% off on the high side. Very impressive.

Well this is a big bummer! That scanner looks huge sitting in there! And I thought the science scanner and the medical scanner could fit in there. Oh well. GEEZ. Wasn't the scanner supposed to fit in there upright? Did TWC not take this into co sideration??
Can it be modified to fit? Is it deep enough?
