The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

For the life of me I don’t know why anyone would want to watch episodes on that small screen.

Oh, and while I applaud Wand for getting the head spin past the bar…. Yeah… I kinda hate the ratchet.
There's a cool factor--one guy Adam Savage featured built a Raspberry Picorder with all the episodes on it.

Also, the original VFX would look fine at 320x240--they look awful in HD, so I usually watch the remastered ones.

But, you know, taste is taste... YMMV.

I think it just feels like something I would watch a few minutes of and then never use that feature again.

But hey, to each their own.

I totally agree. I MAY watch an episode on my phone, but that screen is tiny. I’d never watch multiple episodes, needless to say ONE.

This is Cool to my eyes…..

It’s nostalgic to me in that the screen outline shape and bubbled lens reminds me of the living room tube T.V.’s from back in the day…when I watched newly aired episodes.

Amazon always charges sales tax for your location, regardless of merchandise origin. It's been that way for years.

The only place memory would show up is on the Engineering/dev screen, but it doesn't seem to display that.

Best guess there are at least approximately 21mb of free memory so far, in order to record 8 …30 second sound bytes for your own personal logs assuming they are using a wav file system to record with and also being a “mono” channel and not “stereo”.

Internal user free memory capacity not indicated…at least here..as part of the SDRAM.

Btw…what appears to be the development (hack) software for the STM8 Microcontroller is at the tools and software tab of this webpage. STM8 Fact Sheet and Developers software link

Here’s a hack prevention hiccup IF TWC implemented it….

“Memory access security system (MASS) keys
The Memory access security system (MASS) consists of a memory write protection lock designed to prevent unwanted memory modifications due to EMS or program counter loss. To unlock the memory protection, one or more keys must be written in a dedicated register and in a specific order. When the operation (write or erase) is completed, the MASS must be activated again to provide good memory security.”

Here’s a block diagram on the ARM Cortex-M7….(as we all know…cache = memory)

I wonder if the USB port could have been put under the hood in the middle? Charging there could have mimicked this scene.

That wire could have run down the back inside the Tricorder to the Charging area near the bottom of the Tricorder, having it upright like that allows them to view the Tricorder while trying to communicate with the enterprise. Make Sense to me...?
