I am forever grateful I would have been cutting wires otherwise! LOL It was the very first thing I noticed to gripe about. LOL

I’ll be turning it off as well. I’m not needing it lit up. But I think it’s a great option as some will.

I have a question for anyone from the US that was able to order a Tricorder. Do any of you have an Amazon Prime membership and if so did you get free shipping? I'm wondering if Amazon UK is considered separate from Amazon US even though they accept our logins and payment info

Yes I do, and no I didn't. They charged "postage & packing."

Thanks. I wonder if Prime members in the UK got free shipping. It's not a big amount but everything adds up. I noticed they charged you.tax, I thought you only got charged tax if the item was purchased from the same state you lived in, if your state has a sales tax.

Well ….how much user free internal memory does the tricorder have? I didn’t RTFM.

If none, once the hack to access using a micro sd card to be able to be played from is accomplished….you’ll have to play the series and movies off of the micro sd card.

At worst a 45min episode of the worst video format vid is roughly under 7gb….x 79 episodes = 553gb…..

Micro SD cards are up to 1Tb…..plenty of room for the entire collection of STOS tv series and movies on 1 micro sd card.

That SD slot should be active upon inserting a micro SD card from the looks of it……

How about you inserting a micro sd card with any content and see if it gets read?

At the very least, where it’s indicated on the screen should do a state change to reflect the insertion…from EMPTY to something else…

That will be an interesting test...

I have a couple of episodes as .mp4's that I could scale down to 320x240 and see if they load, but I'm not holding my breath--they didn't put in any video playback software that I'm aware of. But at least it might see the file on the card.

A Select File (individual episode/movie) would be nice and a Play All in proper succession (S1E01, S1E02….) and Random Play would be nice
