I think we have officially DERAILED this thread. LOLActually, me too. Scrotal scarring and cysts are NOT fun!
My apologies.

I understood that they intentionally didn't add a stop because it is seen being used in the series with the screen pointing almost straight up while hanging from the strap off the shoulder. I can't remember what blog post/video I saw that in but Chris mentioned specifically that they wanted to be able to recreate this feature for accuracy. I think he said there is a stop to prevent it from going back too far and damaging the wiring but it swivels further back so as to be able to recreate the "straight up" position.
EDIT: FOUND IT!!
Yes, the conversation did turn a bit nuts…!I think we have officially DERAILED this thread. LOL
My apologies.
True that….I guess I’ll have to train reading the display upside downAnd yet, if the hood didn’t rotate 180°, there would have been somebody calling them out for it not being accurate!
You can’t please everybody.
But you sure can bring out the nit-pickers in the majority!

From further down the page of update #11:Interesting…..
I’ve seen other designs based on nipple and detent combos for positive locking positions….never like what’s described above.
That's Ratched, not ratchet!I could do without the “Ratcheting” hood, but there it is…

I just felt like complaining.
Thank you for indulging me.

Not everyone is as OCD as you are.
And yet for those who want it illuminated, there is that option. Looks like they really did think of everything didn’t they?I hate that moire illumination. It's particularly jarring to the eye, demanding attention, even two hot spots in photos, and takes me out of the prop experience. We never saw such a thing. First thing I will turn that off forever.
