I don’t know if that is fact or not, it was a hypothesis that I presented.

From my time in action figure collecting circles, my understanding agrees with yours. There's a minimum order these Chinese factories need to even spin up production, otherwise it's not worth it, and ~10,000 is a number I've heard before.

I’ve already run my battery down twice and had to recharge it. I love that it can give me barometric pressure, and temperature readings. However, I don’t know how to translate Celsius to Fahrenheit.

So I live in the desert, and see that it’s 38°, but my body is telling me something completely different. At least from an American point of view.

Somebody posted it a few pages back, but I had to look it up again. It's °F = (°C × 1.8) + 32.

As for literal, it's like I posted on the blog today--in first semester of law school if you don't get it right they sew you up in a bag with feral cats. But that still beats getting a C on the exam.

What I was hoping is that, if there's a run ongoing, setup is already done, and you can increment beyond the 10K without having to order yet another 10K. But I don't know either.

IIRC, factories don't keep assembly lines for a given product set up if they don't need to. They'll use that floor space for something else one the first 10K are done.

Maybe they could add on if the original 10K are still in production but if there's a time gap? You're looking at another 10K, probably.

That sounds reasonable from an economics standpoint. We'll see what happens--maybe they can increment in time if sales continue to be brisk.

It was $350 (or actually £270, which would come out to around $350--$359 in my case).

Out of curiosity, has anyone tried to get it shipped to someone in the UK and then shipped it back to the US as gift?

Just over 350 as asalaw said, add the 30% tariff it would be around $455 so $415 is very reasonable. With shipping ( I expect it it won't be prime)
I expect it will be around $445-450 before sales tax.
I hope TWC can get them shipped to the US in the next month. I imagine it will be challenging to find open shipping space for a bit.

It was $414.39 (all-in, to include shipping) when I purchased mine in the first batch available on 04/24/25.

Me…well, truth be told, I am a small, really very petty man, who would be filled with quiet contempt for anyone who jumped ahead of the line, as I and many others did, to purchase a Tricorder without the proper invitation.

The thing is it really doesn't matter..like the communicator these will be available for a long time. Probably hit a few best buys eventually like the communicators did. FOMO Is not necessary with this item. People need to relax. The comments over at Wand are just plain hilarious. I feel a bit bad for Chris. A few posters have posted relentlessly with worry about not getting the damn thing. Constanty.bombardimg the poor guy with the same questions over and over again. It's rather silly.
