When I first got on their website it gave me the same error. Apparently they weren't ready to start taking orders yet. Then a hour or so later it went thru.

Yeah, clearly they were caught off guard when they discovered they'd accidentally gone live with it. On different searches, it showed up but not available yet, then it disappeared, then it came back and I was able to pre-order, then it vanished again.

I'm so green I wouldn't even know what to ask. I just love deep dives into builds, especially when doing upgrades to improve accuracy.
I grew up watching TOS on repeat and any time it was on tv, but as far as ST props, I've only ever purchased the TWC phaser and communicator.

You mean the Trek Prop Zone? Yeah, that place had some epic tricorder builds as I recall. It shut down during the kerfuffle over that first fake phaser auction. Shame.

If so, they haven't complained about it. On the contrary, they decided it was simpler to leave the listing up for a while. And I don't think anyone can be blamed for jumping on the listing as some of us did--there are tariffs to consider, which go into effect in 9 days. With that in mind, not going for it would be (economically) irrational.
That said, if I get my email as part of this next batch of 952 tricorders, I'm not sure what I'll do. I'd be concerned that cancelling my pre-order and ordering from the email link would result in a later shipping date potentially after May 2nd. We'll see.
One thing to take note of, depending on how quickly these ship from overseas (or don't), even getting your orders in this first batch they may still not arrive until after May 2nd. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer or anything, just saying those tariffs may still need to be dealt with regardless.

Absolutely. The tariffs are supposed to be charged when the item "enters for consumption" (meaning enters the US), or "is withdrawn for consumption" (from a bonded warehouse if it's already in the US). So if the package ships from the UK (hopefully via regular mail) before 5/2 but enters the country after 5/2, yes, the tariffs could well attach at that point.
