Ryan Gosling 'K' - Blade Runner 2049!

The BR coat fabric isn't just acrylic painting.
It's acrylic coated finish as our black coated fabric.
We had tried to paint on our green canvas fabric but couldn't get success.

Honestly yes, what's seen in the picture is pretty much out of the question. For one thing, she's weathering that coat, making it look dusty. Selected coloring in the seams and such. A handheld airbrush like that would be terrible for applying a even coating over an entire garment. You'd need more like a HPLV sprayer. But even that, unless you can point to an exact product that can be bought in Pakistan or shipped to the sewing team, and you ALREADY KNOW it's the right stuff, is not going to work. Jameel can't take weeks of time experimenting with 6 different coatings on 5 different fabrics to invent the right match. Not unless you have 100 buyers willing to pre-order the coat up front for a premium price. Sorry.
I understand the 'damned if you, damned if you don't' conundrum here. But, on paper, it's not outrageous to expect a garment maker to source the right material through industry/insider channels that your average customer simply has no idea about.

And we do. We have, several times in the past. Our regular coat fabric is a custom dyed color that took several tries. For other projects we've done custom screen printing. Jameel has traveled to several different cities looking for good fabrics. In the end though, either it's available or it isn't, and since we don't know exactly how they movie fabric was produced, we cannot put in the time and money it takes to reinvent it.

I don't know. I haven't spent too much time looking yet. And that's the real question, isn't it? Are there 25 people interested in an updated, accurate, best-fabric coat? Or is it really like 5 people?

We've made some design changes, and got some better fur. We're going to produce a new coat with all the changes, and get some good pics. But it will be with the old fabric that we've been using for years. At that point I could see what the interest is in finding a new fabric, and if there are enough people willing to pre-order to make it worth the time and money.
How would a pre-order run work? Could you do a deposit list here? I'm confident we could get 25 people on board if that's the minimum needed. I know there's a couple BR Facebook groups too where people are active that would likely be interested in getting in. Would happily share the pre-order run there if you were able and willing to get it started.

Im in for a SA Zlurpo - but it absolutely must have fabric at least equal to my SR. Im out if its the existing waxed cotton.

Yes, same quilted lining.
This coat sleeve length was slightly smaller than it should be.
And sleeve bicep as per client given sizes, its wider sleeve, due to different angle sleeve doesn't appear properly.

Just to follow up on what I mentioned a few times in the past regarding the 'floppiness" issue with my custom collar... This is what I mean.

The movie collar clearly appears to be robust and rigid in its construction. This is why I think, in the absence of highly laminated, rigid cotton canvass, there's a good case to be made for using buckram -or something similar- to solve this issue.

Hey Mechanismo, I think you are making mistake, mannequin images can't match to hanger images.
You must wear the coat or put on dummy then take images.
Or if you had done before so please share again here.
IMHO, floppiness not an issue just add buckram or hard fusing if you want to collar looks rigid.

Not looking to derail the thread, but I know there was one post from SCREENS that didn't seem to mention a brand name. Does anyone here know the undershirt K wears underneath the avery sweater? Just to be clear, NOT the sol angeles T-shirt he wears when first speaking to Joi, but the long sleeve top he presumably wears under his sweater. Was the brand name for that ever established?

Hey Folks,
I think I found laminated fabric solution.
This material not available in my local market, otherwise I definitely try this chemical.
I've used this, albeit on a 1/6 scale officer K figure. It works. I've seen it used on your coat, Jameel Ur . Adam Miller on fb did it:
I'm attaching the photos here for anyone who isn't a group member. Odicoat is functional--however, finish-wise, in my experience, it's very similar to waxing. For everyday wear, I can testify that the finish comes out nowhere near as nice as the soul revolver finish, whatever it is they're using. In my experience, like waxing, it's tedious to apply, smelly and can require reapplying every so often. That said, that's my experience applying it by hand. Maybe if it was done in a factory uniformly to cloth before it was stitched it might be different, but personally speaking I wouldn't necessarily recommend it. Just my two cents.

It's looking fantastic, a SA replica coat for daily use.
Thank you sharing these great images and your opinion.
