While I agree that Rogue One was a good movie (I still like Revenge of the Sith more tbh), we cant forget that Rogue One was a "happy accident." The film also went through major reshoots with Jyn apparently being more snarky, the tie fighter "confroting" the duo in the finale not happening, and rumors that Jyn and Cassian survive the mission. This doesnt detract from the movie itself but I do believe Rogue One was a "lightning in a bottle" for Disney Star Wars that they cannot reliably replicate (I havent seen recent Star Wars so cant comment on Andor but the praise for it seems to be because its a war show set in Star Wars rather than being lore accurate).
I think this was discussed before but making a stormtrooper a janitor is also pretty stupid. Maybe the First Order is incredibly understaffed so even soldiers have to do "menial jobs" by Hollywood standards but you wouldnt have a soldier be a "permanent" janitor and have that position on rotation. Despite the promotion of Finn as a "minority representation" in Star Wars, they really did the character a disservice and made him kind of a clown in the trilogy.Bringing up Kyle Katarn again shows how lousy the writers on the Sequel movies are. Kyle is one of many characters in the EU who were former Stormtroopers, that had awesome back stories. They couldn't even muster up anything for that dude in the Sequels other than "He's a Stormtrooper JANITOR".
Probably because of social media but media consumption seems to have changed more into a "us vs them" regarding the success of a show rather than just its merits as a work of art. Disney failing with Star Wars is "good" because some fans still seem to have the naive hope that with enough failure, Disney will either sell Star Wars to someone who will "manage it better" or Disney will step up and produce something good but that just isnt the case.I’ve seen a lot of posts on the web stating “we won” regarding the cancellation of The Acolyte. Won what? It seems everybody keeps losing because Disney keeps putting out garbage.
Is anyone else tired of hearing Star Wars fans deciding what makes a makes a "real" fan based on their own inane criteria (which of course varies from person to person)? I sure am. Maybe worry more about yourself and less about others.

I'm sick of that subjective nonsense too. It's a pathetic cudgel to validate either blind hatred or insufferable loyalty to a brand.

Oh I wasn't referring to you at all or anyone here in particular. I came across a few comments elsewhere and an "article" all which I hesitate to repost. Social media has been really getting under my skin lately. I shouldn't let it.Honestly, I haven't encountered much of that lately. I see nonstop complaints about specific content (including those coming from myself), but that's something completely different. The Acolyte sucks and did damage to Star Wars continuity. But I'm not accusing anyone of not being a "real" fan.
Star Wars fans would be a lot cooler if they were all High Lander and had seek each other out and duel to the death to absorb each others fandom. There can only be one!

Facebook is a feedback loop for this stuff. I have yet to see a post about recent content that doesn't devolve within a few replies. Then again, everything is tribal anymore...
