So while I was looking at my sonic remote I noticed the default copper ring is a bit thick and does not connect with the caged copper section well like in the show, I was thinking to myself if you could reshape the ring to be slimmer and connect with the cage section that might be a vast body improvement for a deluxe conversion

If I were to make the copper ring that wide, I would pretty much have to re-engineer the entire front end, which would make things a bit more expensive.

on another note, I scored a remote and toy for a decent price, so if anyone one wants a standard sonic I can do $350 shipped.

I would suggest to see what you could do, seeing as you have already done the rest of the screwdriver pretty much

I have already worked out how to do it. In order for me to implement it, I would need to make new molds for the core, and a order a number of other things for the new sliding mechanism. the problem is cost. Doing a one off would prove to be far too expensive. I would need at least 5 people interested, and even then it would mean a $50 increase in the price of the deluxe sonics. If I can get 5 people interested in a deluxe sonic with the new more accurate core section, then yes I would do it.

so a couple of months ago I went and bought myself a milling machine Amd have since spent the time getting the hang of said mill. That being said, it has made things so much easier and faster to boot. simply put, you guys and gals made it all possible And because of this, I am dropping the price of the standard conversion by $100. So effective immediately standard mail in conversions are as follows
$200 if you send the remote and toy.
$330 if you Need me to purchase the remote and toy

Deluxe conversions are still the same price.

Wow! With that price drop, I'll definitely be getting one at some point soon. Is there any chance you could put on the gold pins on the copper part of the cage section?

I have one extra set of the waterjet claws at the discount price, so the next person to order a deluxe sonic will get theirs for $520. After that, price goes back up to $555

Hey guys. Just touching base with everyone. A number of you have Sonics and upgrades pending and its taking a bit longer than we all would like. Mostly due to a communication snafu on my part. I sent my file to the waterjet company and then sent another file concerning a different project and they thought I wanted them to halt all cutting until I gave the go ahead for the second project. Anyhow all parts are in hand and getting worked on. At least as soon as I finish typing this. To all my customers waiting on their sonics, I have been doing this for 2 years and have never let anyone down. I highly appreciate your patience and offer my apologies for the delay. and while this may seem self serving on my end, a good thing is worth the wait.

Pics of the new brass/copper attachment point between the upper and lower halves and everything fits like a glove. The connector is twice as long as the previously used ABS connection piece, as such it sits deeper into the sonic for greater stability. Makes me wish I had implemented this sooner. But hey, live and learn I guess. The assembly is held onto the copper cage via a set of brass pins, and the lower half is held on with 2 phillip screws and the entire assembly is given a generous amount of JB weld.

For anyone wanting to upgrade the emitters on the stock remote, I can comfirm that the new emitters will work and not interfere with the IR signal.

Just giving everyone a heads up. I will be capping the deluxe claws Sonics very soon. I'll be ordering one last batch of the claws/holders and then that will be it. The last batch will depend on the number of orders i get in the next two weeks. Just a reminder, the price for a sonic deluxe sonic is $555 with a required down payment of $200 to secure your spot. Standard editions will remain unaffected.

After over two years of doing these conversions, I feel i have to say this. I'm not perfect and things happen. LED soldering points break, boards/speakers blow out, wires snap. I do everything I can to minimize these incidents and member will attest to the extent to which I support my customers on this front. However, disassembling a screwdriver or breaking it in the process of doing so, voids any sort of warranty.

I will be placing an order for 4 sets of deluxe claws, and then that's it I shall be discontinuing that particular version. These last 4 sonics will get a little something extra at no extra charge.
