Walking Dead Rick Jacket

I'm tempted to ask Suzahdi if they can give me the medium instead of the small as going from what folk are saying its a better fit. I sent them my exact measurements but they said the size small was the correct one but just got that feeling it'll be too tight. Guess my question is if you ordered a jacket what size did you get and was it a size up? How does it feel? I just dont want to order the medium and its too big for me. Also a question about the stretchyness of the jacket, when you have it on is it rigid or feels like you can stretch the jacket and not struggle to move around in it? Specifically lifting of arms etc.. Looking at the picture by Nick with them side by side the Ugg jacket always looks so soft and stretchy suede, I see it on the suzahdi jacket too I jsut hope its sorta similar

MrRickGrimes i’ve been talking to this really nice guy on Instagram who has an UGG and a Suzhadi and he has a picture of them side by side. I’m failing to see the difference in size between the two jackets side zippers , i was hoping you could explain it to me better. The only difference i see is the difference in the actual physical zipper itself. The ziptrack angle , length, and positioning all seem to look identical to me though

The Ugg are a littlebit shorter than the one from suzahdi imo. I cant change my desicion now i think they already started to make a new jacket for me and i hope this time Everything is perfect and it can be shipped. They only need to make the same jacket as on the pictures ive posted and do the correct side pocket sizes and add the double seam on the shoulders because i noticed that the double seam on the shoulders are also missing on the one ive posted.

so as i was mentioning earlier , if you want the oversized baggy look, go for a size up. when people say it’s too tight, they’re often mentioning it doesn’t have that loose fitting look his had because andy often wore a size or two above his true size. If you want it to fit you nicely then get your own size. the only thing is it’ll be tight and not conformed to your body as it’ll be brand new leather and it needs broken in. higher quality leather is usually like this. it’s a sign of its durability

tkerr cospl4yer also, when it comes to elasticity, that’s not really a property leather is known for. If you’re getting your true size you can expect some degree of slight movement restriction, of course you don’t want it to be TIGHT on you, but it’s never going to feel like you’re not wearing a jacket at all in terms of your ability to move. that’s just the nature of the material of the jacket. Suede being soft and supple of course makes it easier to move then full grain leather, but suede is still literally cut from the same cloth

I totally get what you mean I guess I'm not explaining what I'm trying to ask/say properly. I know suede is that I have suede jackets, what I mean is with the lycra bands etc looks like it has a bit of elasticity around the waste atleast. And when rick lifts his arms and the jacket isn't pointy on the shoulders it looks very relaxed, thats what I was meaning. But as you say its probably better to go with a larger fit to have a relaxed look and feel. So I've asked them for a medium, if its too big then hell, means I can hit the gym hard and put on a bit of weight. No sweat. Would be worse if it was too small, only so much weight I can lose and I'm already a slim built guy lol! Thats for you input and insight.

im my experience you are better sizing up, i have "sized correctly" 5 years ago and the jacket always has issues, despsite what others are saying in this thread this jacket is a bomber jacket not a motorcycle jacket. it shouldnt be that tight.

this is photos from my new jacket earlier this year with my arms up which is comfortable to wear: Walking Dead Rick Jacket

Cool, thanks for the advice dude, I'm a bit more confident in my choice of sizing up now, I bought a rick grimes jacket a few years back, it was a small but I never wear it because it's tight and doesn't look great, I think medium would be way better I'm glad I've asked them, I wanted to keep the length of the sleeves the same though as much as I think the jacket rick wears with the long sleeves looks really cool, I can't pull that off at all lol! I'm super excited to get this jacket

Also your jacket looks really good on you!

yeah like i said it shouldn’t feel tight whatsoever, but if you’re going for your true size it needs to be snug wether it’s a bomber, racer, or motorcycle jacket. leather always breaks in so as a general rule of thumb it’s best to buy your size and have it break in around your body. As for this rick grimes one the answer is obviously more subjective because it depends on what look you’re going for.

yeah man for sure! i’m glad you got what you like. Rick’s is relaxed more than usual in the shoulders because of its oversized fit which i do admit looks better. Also yes, the Lycra definitely is there for elasticity. it helps with excessive material not ballooning out, and it makes you look great

i respectfully disagree. i love the contributions you have made to the progress of this jacket and your input into this thread. but you were the one asking if the shoulders would flatten out. ive made the same mistake as you and gone for my true size and it hasnt worked out for me.

ive posted my photos of my jackets, and posted my experience of 2 different sizes of the same maker.

i will happily have egg on my face if im wrong and i hope i do, but suzahdi makes prop clothes, not clothes made for every day use.

i appreciate the kind words.

I get it man i do, that sucks that it has been your experience. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for you. We all have slightly different dimensions even if we’re the same size so i feel like it’s a mileage may vary type situation. However, it is true that a snug fit for a brand new leather jacket is generally the recommended thing to do. I’m sure you’ve seen guys wearing some sort of grain leather that just looks way too baggy and big. it just looks like they grabbed any old jacket and called it a day. Traditionally, jackets were made to accentuate your features which is why they need to be snug initially to then conform around those features.

You are right that i did ask about the shoulders. When i asked though, I was already told by owners i’ve talked to on this sub , other platforms, as well as Suzhadi themselves and they said it was just a product of it being brand new Suede. The stitching was kind of bunched up towards my Traps instead of laying nicely on my delts so i was concerned for a second. Me asking about how long it took for it to go down was just seeing if others had the same experience as those i had already talked to. I’ll post in another week giving my full review, but as of right now the Suede is already a lot softer and the shoulder areas are slowly but surely making there way over to where they need to be. Just my experience of course

I completely get waht you mean with the whole way too baggy look, thats what I really want to try and not happen. And one that just looks boxy and just doesn't sit right. I do want it to look like it fits me the way its meant to but with enough play on the jacket that i'm not restricted or the whole jacket moves up when i lift my arm or whatnot.

Going by what others have said, because it has lining inside too makes me think a bigger size would be preferrable, does the lining in the jacket make it more snug? if it wasn't there would you of went with a smaller size?

I just want to make this jacket something I can wear and be proud but not look like its too big or too small. Its difficult because I'm not a tall person and i'm not bulky I'm relatively slim, small would be the ideal size for a normal jacket i'd go for but this jacket is no normal jacket :p Can I ask what height are you and what size did you go for? Do you feel the length is jusr right? How does it feel on you I guess is my overall question?

so like i was saying before, a jacket that fits you properly is supposed to be initially snug , not to be confused with tight. When this jacket came in it was snug and it is gradually breaking in. Every jacket that is truly your size is going to have some degree of movement restriction, i have never owned a jacket that was my proper size that didn’t do that, that’s just the nature of wearing a piece of clothing. think about a t-shirt. If you reach both of your hands as high as you can above your head , your shirt will follow you and bunch up in areas. I’m 5”10 and weight 160lbs. Muscular build. It fits me like a glove and all the measurements are where you would want a classic fitting jacket. The jacket feels extremely durable and high quality. I’m sure the lining does make a slight difference, but not one that would push you into the next size up

So I ordered this jacket around December of 2023, It arrived around 2 weeks ago . I wanted to let it break in before i gave my thoughts.

It’s absolutely fantastic. Now that it’s starting to break in it’s becoming very comfortable , the fit is spot on, and the materials are very high quality. Fahdi and the tailoring team were very receptive to the specific details i wanted for this jacket and through trial and error they got it as perfect as a replica can be. Those on the fence, go through with the purchase because they go the extra mile more than any other company for anything i’ve ever seen. You will not find another replica especially from the other bigger companies in direct competition with Suzhadi. The ONLY reason i’m giving this a 4/5 Stars is because there’s a patch on the shearling that seems to be separated from the rest of the fur and you can kind of see into it, as well as a few places where the stitching isn’t tightly in the coat as it should be. Other than that, I genuinely could not be happier. Fantastic job Suzhadi

Thats great. Im happy the jacket is working out for you. Yours also includes 2 improvements over mine as well being the shearling on the collar is much nicer, and the main zipper uses a larger gauge. I hope this will be the new standard!
