Tony Stark's Cellphone/PDA by Propalooza PROTOTYPE PICS ***post #18***

I think propalooza said he was going to be a little busy for the next week or so. Hopefully he can take some time to make a few.

First off very cool idea in a prop great job. But why are the LG and Stark Logos being etched in again? From the images I have seen posted on this thread it looks like the only logo etched( pre-cgi) is the Stark (to-left corner). Also it looks like in most cases the final CGI is what dictates what logos are on and where they are located.

Taken from earlier post.

I think you're correct that only the StarksIndustries logo should be etched. Thanks AGW!

The only reason I was doing both the Stark logo and the LG logo is if you look back on post #3 that Jedifyfe posted you can clearly see both logo's on the one displayed. I can do just the Stark logo on the clear one but to me it will throw it off balance if that makes sense too you.

From the looks of the screencaps posted by Ares GW the phone by default has no logo, logos only seem to appear when there are images on it that aren't full screen and by what graphics/buttons are on the screen at the time. My guess would be that the logos are supposed to be generated by the phone and are not etched onto the screen so that they don't cover up any controls & icons that might appear where the logos are. A good example of this are the two right hand images, note how in the top one there are icons in the upper right hand corner and no LG logo but the upper left is empty so the Stark logo is displayed. Then in the lower right hand image there are large icons in the upper leftt hand corner of the phone so no Stark logo and to the right there's some sort of box like graphic (possibly a counter?) that takes the place of the LG logo.

I think that for the replica to screen accurate both the Stark & LG logos would have to be part of the transparency and even then it would have to depend on exactly what is displayed on the transparency since the logos only appear when there is nothing that would be covered up by them.

I hear you about the balance..but the image I posted was Jedifyfe's image. You can see in the four shots of his which logo is shown in each shot. I also posted the non-cgi version shot in which you can only see the StarkLogo...honestly I think the LG was an after thought or shameless plug...lol

Look at the non-cgi version..you do see the stark logo

That's true but the logo seems to disappear as soon as there's something being displayed where the logo. Although it would probably result in some serious screen burn in over time it could be that the logo is generated by the phone at all times whenever that space is empty. It wouldn't take any battery power if it used some sort of e-ink type of technology and since this is Tony Stark we're talking about a hybrid e-ink and regular video display wouldn't be out of the question. Either that or depending on when the screencap takes place if it's from right before Tony starts toying with his phone it could be that the Stark logo only appears when Tony turns on or wakes up the phone. Either way I think that the logo isn't etched into the phone but generated by the phone's OS.

All I want is what the static prop looked like. I could care less what CGI they put over the top of it.

On my static prop I want the Stark and LG logos etched in. On the graphic prop....no logo etched, let the graphic take care of that.
