Tony Stark's Cellphone/PDA by Propalooza PROTOTYPE PICS ***post #18***

that looks really nice.

i can think of a way of lighting it but you would have 2 thin wires coming out the side for the power but i suppose you could hide them up your sleeve.

have you heard of EL wire? what i would do with create a small channel around the clear perspex and glue the el wire around, then encase it in the black rim ( you may have to modify your design if you wanted to do this). turn it on and the wire will glow all around the edge illuminating the screen.

add a couple of printed transparancies and your good to go

Go oooon....

I see where you're going with this concept. Interesting...

This is a very neat project. I was thinking perhaps something could be done with a non-glue "sticker" ....like the kind a oil change company puts on the inside of your window to alert you the next time you need an oil change. Then you could switch them out with ease....

LOL sorry, just picked up the thin acrlyic and getting ready to start cuttin. I also picked up some transparencies to see how it will look with it sandwhiched between 2 pieces, i'll have show and tell a little later if I like the results.

Here are some more test pieces.

The first one is the multi-layer with the stark logo and the lg logo

Next is a 2 layer 1/4" boarder with a transparent graphic / no etching on the plexy

And a 1/4" boarder with no graphic but etched stark logo and lg logo

I just received a commissioned piece I have to start on as well as a restoration project in the shop so those will take precedence but I'll work on this as I go along. I didn't have time to create any control graphics to laser etch into the plexy yet, so if anyone has coreldraw and wants to chip in some design work please let me know.

The 2 layer 1/4" boarder with a transparent graphic / no etching on the plexy is singing to me, but I'm thinking the Stark/LG logo etchs should always "be there" by default. Not to create more work for ya...

it covers some of the graphic on the other tranz pieces and if you look at the display on the website a few pages back the logo's move potions on some of the graphics. Its not a big deal to me I just tell the laser where to cut or etch and it does all the work :)

WOW. Thats awesome, I was unsure about the transparent graphics but that looks really good. What about making a default screen like it's in idle mode, like the home page of the phone instead of an action scene?
