I know it's a little late for another two cents worth but etching the logos so that something is displayed while it is in "static" mode doesn't make sense as far as mimicking a working model. Reason being that no device, not even this "stark phone" displays anything while it is off i.e. not lite up. Those logos appear as "widgets" depending on what "app" he's using. That would be like creating a prop of a LCD tv and etching in the discovery channel logo that appears at the bottom only when the set is turned on.
One idea (ugh oh, that's two more cents) is to use a transparancy and the EL wire hidden in the rim with the two + and - contacts discreatly exposed at the bottom of the rim. That way you can have the contacts rest on your battery source of the display stand (like charging your cell phone) or have it come in contact with hidden " 9v power contact points" temp. glued to your thumb if you're at a show or convention. It be worth it to use a little flesh colored latex if you where doing an all day show. Imagine how cool it would look to have it displayed on the stand all lite up. Then you pick it up with your left hand (lights go out) and when you place it in your right hand.....wait for it.......wait for it.....TA DA! LIGHTS ON AGAIN! the crowd goes wild, people applaude, mothers start offering you their babies to kiss, tears well up on the faces of little kids, loose women start offering themselves to you because at this moment YOU ARE TONY STARK!!!!
whew, I got a litttle carried away. sorry.
