Alright, let's do it..................................................

Seems like the Johnny Ringo Shirt and Wild Rag was a pretty big hit yesterday when I unveiled our secret project
1f920.png

In the mist of trying to get our news out yesterday, we forgot to tell everyone how to order this setup (or just one or the other). I also for forgot to mention that we are only going to do this setup once in every blue moon as it is just too time consuming to keep it on our website for sale all the time. What this means is that we are having a cutoff date of JUNE 8th at 6:00pm MOUNTAIN TIME. After this time, you will no longer be able to order a shirt or wild rag until we decide to do another run of them which could be 6 months to a year (or even longer). Basically, it all depends on how busy we are, and since we started this company, we haven't been non busy, so take this into consideration when trying to determine if you want to order one now or wait.

I had several people ask me what the difference is between our shirt and some of the others that have been made before ours. Well, to put it plain and simple without trying to sound arrogant, our shirts are going to be movie correct, to whereas the other shirts made in the past are NOT. Please let me explain, I haven't seen a Johnny Ringo shirt made the correct way except for the one in worn in the movie. Every company uses the wrong dragon, or the dragon has the wrong color used in it, the bib is always dead wrong, and they use the wrong buttons. Ringo's shirt also has a special yoke on the back of the shirt which no one applies to the back of their shirts. Yes, our shirt will have this special back yoke

I will say that the other shirts that have been made all have the same WRONG fabric and this is where ours will be the same as everyone else's shirt, as I have never been able to find this fabric. On a special note, I don't know if I would really use the same fabric as used in the movie for these couple of reasons. First, the fabric looks to be wool or flannel, which if wool would make it scratchy to wear. Second, either of these fabrics would be just EXTRA WARM to wear in the summer when you are walking the streets of Tombstone causing trouble. Our shirts are going to be made with a 100% cotton that closely matches the movie color (or as close as I could find after looking a ton of different colors).

When it comes to Ringo's Wild Rag/Bandana, well, NO ONE makes this, so I guess we are the only game in town when it comes to this one

To order this shirt and wild rag we have made a page on our website (www.hollywoodwesternwardrobe.com) on how to go about getting an order placed. Here is a link to that page................

https://hollywoodwesternwardrobe.com/.../tombstone.../

Please take the time to read everything on the page and as always, if you have any questions about ANYTHING, please reach out to myself or Elaine and we gladly help you out

Thank You ALL for the more than kind words about everything we are doing over here at Hollywood Western Wardrobe. Elaine and I appreciate it VERY MUCH and we are having a fun time doing it.

May God Bless you ALL and we look forward to our next project

PS. You ALL will get to see what you have ordered once the first one is done (by the way which is going to Marcus Holt). Once the photo shoot and video on this special project has been done, all the other shirts and wild rags will start getting made and sent out to everyone.

Joe Porro did tell me that when they were making the cowboy shirts that they went to the local JoAnn's Fabrics and bought every single bolt of flannel that they had. So yes, most if not all of the cowboy shirts were cotton flannel.

I just think wearing a flannel shirt in the summer wouldn’t be that comfortable. This is why I choose to go with a nice breathable cotton.

Johnny Ringo’s Dragon

Last night I received an email from Wendy Newton as she has been fine tuning the embroidered dragon on the Johnny Ringo shirt.
Wendy has switched threads on the design as not to make it look so shiny, as the one in the movie wasn’t shiny. She also has dialed in all the correct colors to match the original shirt. You will notice in the photo below (which is prototype number 2) that the horns are now yellow and match the dragon’s eyes. This once again is how the movie version was done. The last thing for Wendy to do on this dragon is to get it outlined in black, which she said will be done by the time production starts on these beauties.

As you can plainly see, we are taking every measure to ensure that these shirts are done the correct way. Every little detail that the movie shirt has, our shirts will have as well. As mentioned before in a previous post, the only difference between ours and the original movie shirt is going to be the fabric. Our shirt is going to be made in a breathable 100% cotton, and the color is going to be a mighty close match to the original.
Remember, you only have until June 8th to get your order in.

Okay, this is a little topic, but it does relate to the Johnny RIngo Tombstone project in a weird way...................... :p

I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon some of the original belt buckles used on the rig in Clint Eastwood's movie The Outlaw Josey Wales. When I say original buckles, I don't mean screen used buckles, what I mean is that they are from the same company that made the one on Josey's rig. These buckles are made of solid brass and are stamped ENGLAND on the back of them.

Since I am having the Johny RIngo rig made for the special photo shoot with the Johnny Ringo setup we are doing, I decided to have my buddy (over at EJ Leatherworks) make this Josey Wales rig for me as well. We already make the Josey Wales shirt (see photos below), and my business partner has already made the Josey Wales jacket/coat before. Although we don't have this jacket/coat in our production catalog right now, we have plans to add it here in the future. Please note that the color of the shirt in the photo below is NOT the true color of the shirt, as my studio lighting made the shirt look darker than it actually is.

No rest for the wicked ;)

I got a Josey Wales belt buckle for a rig I made through Western Leather Holster. Theirs is cast from an original production used buckle and they actually made the Dolores buckle in 'Westworld'. They also make many other famous Western belt buckles including Doc Holliday, Hondo, Gus McCrae, Red River etc.

The very worst part of doing all of my projects is the hurry up and wait game......................

I have so many projects I am wanting to get done that it blows my mind on how long they take to become fruition. One has no idea how many steps are taken just to release one single item. The months (sometime years) upon research on how the item is, then it's the time spent trying to find a fabric and buttons that match what you are looking for. All I want is my items to put into my collection...........................

While I play the waiting game, I can't just sit still. I am either researching something or I am working on what I have in my studio. This brings me to the latter, right now I am on a big Clint Eastwood kick, as you could probably tell by my Josey Wales post above. At the present time I am putting a Man with No Name outfit together, as I want it to be the VERY BEST out there (it's just how I roll guys). At the present time I have the shirt, pants, bandana and hat (hat needs one little tweak that my buddy who makes hats will have to do for me). I am in the process of buying what I call the VERY BEST Eastwood vest there is, I swear it looks just like you took it off Clint's body. I will do a post on this here soon ;) While all this is taking place my buddy (who makes all my gun rigs) and I are working on the most spot on Man with No Name rig EVER MADE  None of the wardrobe from this setup will be made by us, as I am outsourcing EVERYTHING.

Today I went into the studio and did a small photo shoot on my High Plains Drifter shirt. Again, we did not make this, as it I something I just found. It's not perfect, but sometimes you can only come so close to what you are trying to achieve. All and all I am happy with it, although I think I might add another pocket to it here in the near future. On a positive note, the Man with No Name rig will pair perfect with the High Plains Drifter wardrobe I am working on :) Please note that I know that the hat and pants are wrong, but I am working on it........................ ;)

Can't wait to get my Doc Holliday wardrobe finally started!
