Tombstone Val Kilmer / Doc Holliday Costume

joberg, I promise you that what is getting ready to be unveiled will knock your socks off  I am so excited about this that I can hardly contain myself from blabbing it all over the place.
Well, I am nearly clairvoyant when it comes to guessing so I will refrain. What I will say is, how the heck long do you have me waiting? You know, so I can pace but have enough snacks set aside to not starve.

I bet you're not going to guess this one, as it came out of left field ;) Right now I am waiting on the swatch book to come in so I can make sure that the fabric I have picked out is what I am wanting. If it is fabric I picked out, it will be ordered right away, and we should definitely have something very close to being done in June. Part 2 of the project might actually beat part one on getting done, as I have a phone call to make tomorrow and then we are off to the races. Get more than snacks as it's going to me a minute or two on this project, but it is going to be more than worth the wait on it............

Thanks for that JohnHolliday...now I'm going to remove the carpet near my desk...you know; getting a big hole in the middle of it with me pacing and waiting for DA BIG NEWS:lol::lol:!! Greenmachines: thanks for the suggestion of snacks and such (as if I need the pounds right now:p:p)

I'm glad I can still keep people on the edge of their seats  Just so you all know, phase two of the project is officially off and running as of this morning. This project consists of three major pieces. Phase one is waiting on fabric swatches to come in, phase two is now waiting for fabric samples also to come in and phase three is being done at my friend's shop. Lots of time and planning is going into this special project to make it as perfect as we can possibly get it

Reviving this thread cause it should have a bump after Vals passing. I'm also bringing back my doc cosplay for this whole year and next. And this thread has some impressive work and dedication. I must say you sir did an amazing job with your setup.
Thank You DravenHolliday :) I take great pride in my work and my research to make the best possible garments. I am glad you have joined this thread as one can never have too many Doc Holliday's roaming around

My post on FB this morning

Well, I bet you didn’t think we had it in us

Hello to ALL you Tombstone fans out there on Facebook, today I am VERY HAPPY to announce that we are making the movie correct Johnny Ringo shirt and Wild Rag.

Yes, it is true, we are finally going to make this shirt. We had always planned on making this setup but we knew getting the dragon embroidered on the bib was going to be the big task, along with coming up with the correct print for the wild rag that Ringo wears. Well, luck would have it that my good friend Marcus Holt (who just happens to be a former Devil Dog) is a HUGE Johnny Ringo fan. Marcus basically got tired of waiting on us to do the shirt and took matters into his own hands, which turned out to be a blessing for us. Marcus bought him a shirt and told the maker not to make the bib for it and just to send him the fabric for the bib and he would do it himself. From there Marcus reached out to his friend Wendy Newton and had her embroider the dragon onto the fabric. It was somewhere around this point that Marcus and I talked on the phone and one thing led to another and here we are making the CORRECT shirt. Marcus stated that he didn't particularly like the shirt he had as it wasn't movie correct, I told him we had the correct movie pattern just no one to do the dragon for us. It was then I asked Marcus if Wendy would like to do our dragons for us. Marcus said he would reach out to Wendy to see if she would like to do this, and before you know it, I am talking to Wendy on the phone and Elaine is talking to Wendy on the phone as she said she would do it for us.

The plan is that Elaine is going to make the shirt and send Wendy big pieces of fabric for her to embroider the dragon on to it, then the fabric with the dragon on it will be sent back to Elaine for here to make the shield bib and then she will attach it to the shirt. As you can see, there is going to be a lot of shipping involved with just making this shirt. All while this is going on, the wild rags are going to start being made. We were lucky enough that Marcus once again did all the leg work on the print design as he had one made but the fabric was just too heavy. I used Marcus's print pattern and had a couple of samples printed on different weight of fabrics. Marcus's was the heavy, then I did a medium weight and last a lightweight fabric. I am 99.9 % sure the lightweight fabric is the one that we are going to go with as the dye bleeds through to the other side making it look like the print is on both sides, but I have sent both samples to Marcus to see what he thinks. Just so everyone knows, both the Shirt and the wild rag are going to be made out of 100% cotton. It is also probably just best to say at this time that these shirts will only be done in the Hollywood Cut (Dress Shirt Cut) as this is what was worn in the movie. On a side note, did you know that the Turkey Creek Johnson and Johnny Ringo's shirts are both the same? It's true, the only difference is the color and one has piping and the other has a dragon.

Price for the shirt is going to be $185 plus shipping and the price for the wild rag is going to be $85 plus shipping. Yes, these items are expensive, but then again, they are not cheap to make either especially with all the shipping involved.

Below are photos of our PROTOTYPE Shirt and Wild Rag. Changes will be some different color in the dragon (to match the movie) and a lighter weight of fabric for the wild rag.

Once everything is done to our liking, I will be doing a HUGE photo shoot on this entire setup, plus a video on everything. When the complete setup has been photographed and video is done, I will do a huge post on everything that includes where to buy the Johnny Ringo Suit, Sash, Gun Belt, Spur Straps, and Hat. Remember no stone is being left unturned on this project as we want it as close to the movie as humanly possible.

We are taking preorder sales on this setup (shirt and wild rag) starting today as we are going to need to know how much fabric we are going to need to meet everyone's demands. Preorder Sales will be half down and the other half when the items are finished. Fingers are crossed the first entire setup will be out sometime in July.

I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say about this Johnny Ringo Wardrobe as the good Lord above knows we have waited way to long for it (it's only been something like 35 years).

You were not kidding. This set was waaaaaaaaaaay out there on the possibilities list due to complexity. Absolutely love it.

Alright, let's do it..................................................

Seems like the Johnny Ringo Shirt and Wild Rag was a pretty big hit yesterday when I unveiled our secret project
1f920.png

In the mist of trying to get our news out yesterday, we forgot to tell everyone how to order this setup (or just one or the other). I also for forgot to mention that we are only going to do this setup once in every blue moon as it is just too time consuming to keep it on our website for sale all the time. What this means is that we are having a cutoff date of JUNE 8th at 6:00pm MOUNTAIN TIME. After this time, you will no longer be able to order a shirt or wild rag until we decide to do another run of them which could be 6 months to a year (or even longer). Basically, it all depends on how busy we are, and since we started this company, we haven't been non busy, so take this into consideration when trying to determine if you want to order one now or wait.

I had several people ask me what the difference is between our shirt and some of the others that have been made before ours. Well, to put it plain and simple without trying to sound arrogant, our shirts are going to be movie correct, to whereas the other shirts made in the past are NOT. Please let me explain, I haven't seen a Johnny Ringo shirt made the correct way except for the one in worn in the movie. Every company uses the wrong dragon, or the dragon has the wrong color used in it, the bib is always dead wrong, and they use the wrong buttons. Ringo's shirt also has a special yoke on the back of the shirt which no one applies to the back of their shirts. Yes, our shirt will have this special back yoke

I will say that the other shirts that have been made all have the same WRONG fabric and this is where ours will be the same as everyone else's shirt, as I have never been able to find this fabric. On a special note, I don't know if I would really use the same fabric as used in the movie for these couple of reasons. First, the fabric looks to be wool or flannel, which if wool would make it scratchy to wear. Second, either of these fabrics would be just EXTRA WARM to wear in the summer when you are walking the streets of Tombstone causing trouble. Our shirts are going to be made with a 100% cotton that closely matches the movie color (or as close as I could find after looking a ton of different colors).

When it comes to Ringo's Wild Rag/Bandana, well, NO ONE makes this, so I guess we are the only game in town when it comes to this one

To order this shirt and wild rag we have made a page on our website (www.hollywoodwesternwardrobe.com) on how to go about getting an order placed. Here is a link to that page................

https://hollywoodwesternwardrobe.com/.../tombstone.../

Please take the time to read everything on the page and as always, if you have any questions about ANYTHING, please reach out to myself or Elaine and we gladly help you out

Thank You ALL for the more than kind words about everything we are doing over here at Hollywood Western Wardrobe. Elaine and I appreciate it VERY MUCH and we are having a fun time doing it.

May God Bless you ALL and we look forward to our next project

PS. You ALL will get to see what you have ordered once the first one is done (by the way which is going to Marcus Holt). Once the photo shoot and video on this special project has been done, all the other shirts and wild rags will start getting made and sent out to everyone.
