Tombstone Val Kilmer / Doc Holliday Costume

I might try again tomorrow but I think I've reached the limits of my graphic design skills lol, I just don't have an eye for this. What I've done so far is very clearly pasted together on a computer using images of flowers drawn by different people in different art styles rather than looking like a cohesive Victorian-era print. I think the image I found earlier will look more authentic for the period even though it's not as accurate (but of course anyone with more of an eye for this kind of thing is free to try too).
You and I run in the same lane on that. I call it "good at ten feet" but I also know you ripped seams just to put them back as two row instead of one.... threads dude, threads....

However, this is JohnHolliday 's thread and that causes the spread of perfection OCD by association.

I am in the middle of remaking most of the RDJ Sherlock Holmes stuff I completed at the beginning of the year after finding or going to great lengths to source better fabrics so you're not wrong lol. For the red vest I'm definitely waiting for JohnHolliday's fabric since we know exactly what that one's supposed to look like, but I'll admit my standards for exact accuracy for the silver vest are a little lower given that we don't even have any images good enough to get a clear view of the pattern in the first place, so I'm a little more willing to settle for close enough if I have to. I have a ton of other things I can work on first though so I'll wait and see if anyone better at this sort of thing wants to take it on.

While I wait on the correct items to get made (we are still backed up on orders from over the summer) I have just been playing in the studio with stuff that Val/Doc might have worn. It’s fun putting this stuff together but I would much rather have the correct items.

While waiting on things to get caught up I decided to get a set of Custom Spurs made to match the spurs John Wayne wore in most of his movies. After getting the spurs made, I finally found a pair of Duke's boots like he wore in Hondo, The Searchers and Rio Bravo (Last two photos are of the boots in spurs as seen in Rio Bravo). Yes, my wardrobe collection just keeps growing and growing, and before anybody says anything, my leather guy is making me the correct spur straps ;)
