Chris's reply when asked if the strap is removable for display:

The strap can be removed, but better to coil it up and make it part of the display. Maybe lightly tack it in its coiled up shape with some rubber adhesive, which can easily be removed later, After all the strap is an integral part of the Tricorder replica.

Remove the strap?! Blasphemy! :p

So where is the microSD card slot located? I haven't seen any hint of it in the videos or pictures released so far. I've seen teh reference to one in the menus/screencaps but that's about it.
It's VERY visible. I blew-out this shot to brighten it up.

FANATICO when these finally ship, you need to create a historical montage of all your ‘tricorder feature’ posts. I’m sure most of your ideas will be included in the final design. Right? :p
Historical Montage Hmmmm…let me ponder that….when the time comes.

On another note…

Really, I don’t think… I’m ever going to be satisfied ….unless the Wand Tricorder can transform like this…..although into something Star Trekish….

Based on the information we have and what we’ve seen, we now have a good idea of what to expect when we finally get the chance to open those hallowed boxes.

The final replica design certainly exceeds all expectations at this price point, and I’ll be overjoyed when I get mine. That being said, as with the phaser and communicator, some will want to customize and upgrade their tricorders further. Are there things anyone is planning to change? Perhaps keep one boxed and modify a second tricorder?
