Dissapointing that we have heard nothing, hopefully this will still pan out. I believe that TWC does not want to compromise quality over early release and I can respect that!

Agree. I believe no news is good news on this. But in the words of Mr. Petty, “The waiting is the hardest part!” Maybe it makes it all the sweeter.

There probably were minor redesigns to accommodate equivalent (available?) components. Hopefully nothing we’ll notice. It’s certainly been an interesting ride ~

I'm not worried. It'll be worth the wait. If the Tricorder is anything like the Phaser and Communicator the quality will be unmatched.

But based on current circumstances over the last few years...pandemic, part shortages, massive delays in imports and exports, inflation...etc etc it's really not a surprise that updates haven't been available.

But like I said I am not worried. Unless the Wand Company goes under...god forbid...they'll get it done.

I'm really hoping this works out but my glass is half empty on this. There should have been something by now, this long after the prototype was made public. They spent a lot of time on detailed blog posts and photos during the prototype production then suddenly nothing since October. If they are struggling I hope they know that the Trek community would be glad to crowdsource with them for the funds to bring it over the line. All that amazing work should not go to waste.

I think "no news" should have a neutral connotation, rather than positive or negative. Like Schrodinger's cat. You don't know until you know.

The least they can do: say there is a minor or major redesign and they will post a new schedule in a couple of months.

Sometimes, it's enough merely to speak to your customers and honestly say, "We don't know, but we're working on it".

They probably thought the #16 GJ statement bought some time but it tasted wrong. “At the time, we had no idea how long the development of this complex product would take or that now, as we get close to going into production, Greg would never get to see the result of the invaluable help he gave us.” Greg’s passing and the Tricorder status are two separate issues.

I really think the only way we won't get this is if TWC goes out of business, which nowadays has happened to more than a few companies. They have a lot of money invested in this and are going to want to try and recoup that.

I do agree that I would like to hear from them a little more but if all they are going to say is they have nothing to say then it doesn't make sense to keep saying it.
