I think people are twitchy in the wake of Eaglemoss imploding. That was a well-established company with multiple revenue streams, built on the back of the Trek license, and it just collapsed, seemingly due in part to the supply chain issues.
Yes. I think ever since...wait.....what?!?
I didn't even know Eaglemoss had folded!

Yup. They put many of their product on steep sale a few weeks ago, then their website 404'ed and reports began surfacing they they were in arbitration (eg bankruptcy proceedings). It all happened very fast.

A look back…Circa 1995
A company…Vital Technologies Corporation….designed and produced a quasi actual functioning Tricorder model TR-107.
The goal was to turn Science Fiction to Science Fact.
Quite pricey for back in the day…price was set at $499.00.
It is my understanding that this piece of tech was buggy … plagued with problems for some.
10,000 units were to be produced….but never was that achieved and the company went belly up at the time.
You can still find YouTube vids….. and occasionally, it will pop up on eBay for a Not What I Would Pay Price.
A bygone novelty nevertheless

I have two of these babies and they do in fact still work and take pretty accurate, if not slow, data readings. I just took mine to Vasquez rocks last week to take readings lol.
Had these sold more, there were plans to sell an expansion add-on utilizing the serial port on the right side of them to download/upload data or have some kind of hardware ad-on scanner.
Thats about it right there!
All the crying and wringing of hands, and gnashing of teeth , will not change one thing, nor make them do updates untill they are ready.
Seems a lot of the newbs here need their hand held!
The fact that no money has changed hands means I'm not at all worried about this. Worst case, we don't get a badass tricorder. I also don't think people sending lots of messages to them will help so I hope no one is spamming them, but we'd all appreciate a product related update sooner than later.

Yeah not sure what the fuss is all about. I get there hasn’t been any updates of late but no monies have been exchanged so why worry? They’ll get to it when they get to it.
I mean we are going through a pandemic, manufacturing issues, product shortages, chip shortages, import/export issues, possible recession…I mean there’s been a lot of upheaval of everything and for everyone.
And I’m sure the Wand Company has been victim of those situations as have we all. Let’s cut them some slack and just enjoy the wait and the day when we eventually get a chance to plop down our CC for this fantastic Tricorder!

When it does come out if people who are wondering why it's taking so long don't jump on the bandwagon they will regret it down the road. Myself I plan on at least two !

I was on the fence with the TOMY Enterprise but knew I would hate myself if I didn’t get one. The same goes for TWC Tricorder.

Look at all the fuss the wait is generating...just on this thread alone. I think the added wait will just wet the appetites of all fanboys even more!
If this Tricorder matches the quality of the communicator and phaser, we can certainly expect something of EXTREME HIGH QUALITY!
If you have the financial resources and are a true Trek or Scifi/fantasy/cinema fan, one would be a fool to miss out on this opportunity!
Really why would time make such a difference in influencing your decision?

If it sat on a shelf then maybe not. If I intend to use it, take it to cons, etc, then that window might close sooner than later.
I sent them my daily email at 12:49 pm, MST and reminded them of who I am and to make sure that they don’t forget me and not to give my Tricorder to anyone else.
It has been exactly 6 hours and I keep refreshing my inbox and see no response from them.
I am suddenly getting a very uneasy feeling.
