I bought the straps online. Cut to the same length as wands and the original, width 19mm but wouldn't go any thicker than 2mm as it's a pain trying to feed it into the side panels if it's too thick and I wouldnt go any thinner than 1.5mm as the leather may be too stretchy. Tried and tested different straps. That looks pretty good! Did you get it done at a cordwainer shop? How much did it cost to get the strap made?
There are some photos online such as the ones I've shown here but if you notice from the series and these 2 photos the straps did vary, there wasn't just one.Is there a good image of the original strap for replication purposes? I know I'll want to swap mine out so a good reference photo would be helpful. Thanks!
No doubt that will come round.I'm going to wait for someone to offer up replacement straps like they did for the Wand Phaser handle.
Well since the Tricorders in the show were not all exact and beat up after a couple episodes. TWC is about as close to perfection as we will see. What was touted as the pinnacle of perfection isn’t so perfect after all…..
Will you be making yours available to purchase? The dividers that come with it scratch the hell out of the rubber on my original D Stines scanner. Here are photos of my "replacement" Medical Scanner dividers. They hold the scanner securely. I can even turn the tricorder upside down with the compartment open and the scanner will stay in place. I have inserted and removed the scanner (carefully) several times and do not see any evidence of any scratching or marring on the scanner. I did inspect the cradle rims of each divider to make sure they did not have any rough spots or filament threads prior to any insertion. Again I did not perform any post-print processing. My only surprise was that if the scanner is positioned with the button in just the "right" vertical orientation, when closing the compartment, the scanner can be activated. There is more than enough space that the cradle could be lowered sufficiently enough to prevent this from happening.

Since all three dividers have the same basic shape the user has flexibility on which side of the compartment the scanner sits and which direction it "faces".
