something interesting, I loaded it in my cart this morning and left it there, even though its out of stock now, it's still going to let me checkout now, on the other hand, if you go to the sold out listing, it won't let you add it to your cart. Makes you go, HMMMMMMM?I put one in my cart before it sold out, just looked at it again and look, Aug 30thView attachment 1946046
I messed around in that screen and somehow turned off the optical disc sensor. It took several tries in the “calibrate sensor” function to turn it on again. I’ve stayed away from the test functions from then on.View attachment 1946076
Anybody messed around on this screen? I’m not sure what this one is testing how do you get passed on all the items?
I left the industry when cell phones were still an expensive perk you needed for production coordinators, or location managers (like me) or people like that. I can totally see why they'd be verboten on set. Can you imagine your average drill-sergeant AD if a phone went off during a take? Now imagine if it were some poor PA's phone? Actually I'm sorry I brought it up--I'm going to have nightmares now. OMG, the blood!!!!YYYAAARRRGGGGHHH!!!
I just went on lunch break and retrieved my phone to find that I have now missed out on the second Amazon listing!
The downside of working at a studio is that you are not allowed to have your cell on set. So, I can't be checking it except during breaks.

I completely agree with you. The whole rollout of this product has been a real mess.Looks like I missed out again and no invite this time
Hate to say this but they really fubared this to no end![]()
Yeh that happened to me. if it ain't broke ...I messed around in that screen and somehow turned off the optical disc sensor. It took several tries in the “calibrate sensor” function to turn it on again. I’ve stayed away from the test functions from then on.
Yep. Better safe then sorry . So far all I've had the time to do is set up the Time and date and orientation . Other things taking priority at this time.I messed around in that screen and somehow turned off the optical disc sensor. It took several tries in the “calibrate sensor” function to turn it on again. In fairness, the tariffs didn't help. If not for that, they probably would have deployed to Amazon US in the first place. These issues are beyond Wand's control.I completely agree with you. The whole rollout of this product has been a real mess.
For our Ghostbusters group. when we do photos with fans, we always try to have the wand lights turned so the view from the camera gets the lights in. Same for the PKE, angle it like we are looking from the side so the facing is caught in the picture. A great way as an excuse to be poking someone in the shot like we are trying to see if they are real or a ghost. I am sure for TOS, it was that same mindset. A cool prop that we paid lots of money for, so make sure the fans get to see how great of a prop it supposed to be.Best scenes, imo…for Spock’s improper use of a Tricorder, “actor to prop”, I’ve seen.
Apparently not only is he able to barely see if at all, the screen at an upside down angle, he’s also able to determine calculated azimuth direction of the Gorn.
I find it humorous….
Focus on Spock and his handling of the Tricorder only. Never once does he turn the Tricorder to look at the screen right side up and directly.
Someone had posted, if I recollect correctly, that McCoy in another episode, is the only character that ever turned the Tricorder screen towards himself for him to see the screen right side up and directly as it should have always been used like that while filming

My phone screen auto-rotates videos and apps depending on the way I hold it and I'm only in the 21st century! I guess I always assumed the tricorder knew which way it was being looked at.Best scenes, imo…for Spock’s improper use of a Tricorder, “actor to prop”, I’ve seen.

You beat me to it, I was thinking the same thing. My phone screen auto-rotates videos and apps depending on the way I hold it and I'm only in the 21st century! I guess I always assumed the tricorder knew which way it was being looked at.![]()
Nimoy had admitted he liked to keep the visually interesting side of the prop to the camera. Let’s pretend him being Vulcan it didn’t matter if the screen was upside down and his Vulcan hearing also could interpret the subtle changes in the scanner sounds to give readings. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
