I did some screenshots again. And please have a close look, there‘s no metal plate in Leia‘s mask vent.

And some more pictures of Han‘s.

Ive already established for myself at least that the clear vent in the mask was originally part of the vintage O2 mask. Its a known element on certain medical masks. It was probably altered with a metal tack on at least 1 side. The appearance of the vents align with the mask function. It is a one way exhaust valve.

Calling the canister done with the addition of a few rub on numbers and a stripe.

Time to work out the mask strap attachment piece. I believe it was made out of mask rubber from the mask that came with the strap. Here you see a piece of a vintage mask and it has the right look. I need to figure out how to replicate the curve and I have some ideas about where the piece may have come from on the mask.

Your canister comes out really cool.

I‘m still waiting for some parts, then I‘ll going on with mine.

The "vents" on the masks came from -vintage- safety goggles...have a few of those for my own build

That looks very similar to the one I‘m awaiting.

OdiWan72: What do you think about the silver tack in the vent? According to the screenshots of Leia I took, there‘s none I think.

Probably just a domed screw, secured with a small nut inside of the mask
Something like this:

The knob on top of the canister is another mystery...But I don´t see no real evidence of it having the "indents". I see the knurled end of a Transcriptor sweeparm instead, which was extensively used on ESB props.

I have another theory. If I look at this pic, I would believe they used the parts this way on Han.

Guys is there evidence of the tape measure clip? I figured they just used the silver sofa lever to hang in their pockets

No, I don’t think there‘s an evidence for the tape measure clip and I‘m afraid we have no chance to find out without inspecting the screen used prop ;-). But it‘s a very practical solution in my opinion, so I use it for my canister as well.

The soda lever was also my first thought, but if you have a look to the position how it is hanged, the lever would be much to high. And on this pic of Leia you can see the lever is no longer there.
