Mynock cave - Falcon Oxygen Mask

That’s cool, we had the same idea. I found this one.

The one I just ordered shows as having very clear vents. Ive purchased a few of these that appeared that way in the picture but were milky white. Hoping that this make is correct.

Another great discovery this time courtesy of mgoob . Besides being a great prop maker he works in a hospital, and about 2 years ago, on the floor with 25 operating rooms, he saw the correct hose: a 7/8" Smoke Evacuation Hose. I don't want to say what its used for but usually you can only purchase in bulk or individually for $50 ish a piece. Not only did he identify the screen accurate hose but he found a great source. We both ordered from the site and received what we ordered. Get em while you can at $12 a piece and it gives you enough to make 2 hoses.

Not sure about the size until I get my mask. It's a thought. I'm probably going to use those an button snaps

I took the circular part from a pair of safety goggles which turned out to be too small for the mask.
One would have to find the correct size by trail and error I would think.

I don't think it would be clear feet b/c we have to think what was available for sale in 1979 and those look very modern.

Not to say it definitely isn't but I'm leaning towards something that's medical as the hose and mask are medical in nature.

What's really needed is a 3D rendering of that part that could be printed in semi-transparent, ultra-smooth plastic, like Trooper_trent does.

Faaarrrrr too many models are designed to w/i 1 mm of accuracy and then printed out at low resolution.
What, then, is the point? All that work for naught.

To those who say "sand it down" or "apply gel" or "Clean up required" are missing the point:
No-one should have to do that much rebuilding of the item.
Just pony up the money to print it out once, then cast it in resin.

Before the age of 3D printing, people wouldn't accept resin castings that looked as bad as today's 3D printed items.
They and I just won't.

I think the safety goggle vent may be a good start. The vents on the original seem to have a small clear dome on top. I will try to get some better pics to verify this.

I agree the originals came from a medical product.

@mgoop: I‘m totally with you about the 3D-printing issues. It brings a great loss of classic building techniques and qualities.

Appreciate that Cameron.

When I couldn't get a response from Buffalo Filter I gave up.
When you offered your parts for sale, I gave it another web search and here we are!

Thanks!

I found these in my small parts pool :) They are from a contact lens cleaning container. I know, they have to be transparent, but I think the size fits good.
