Tom’s Falcon Oxygen mask and tank

Have I mentioned how much I love this prop…
you're going to **** your pants when my package from the UK shows up.

Also Right now I'm thinking the top of the Dagobah version is a pushbutton cap, if anyone sees one thats got a tall section, let me know.

and if anyone has any leads on some M5A1 parts let me know, I have a WTB thread active

The ‘clothing clip’ is from a Stanley powerlock measuring tape, same type that is used for the Leia Hoth jacket greeble

Okay folks, for the sake of documentation, here are the parts of the valve itself. There are TWO spring systems which put pressure on every threaded section… some screw holes were punched afterwards to lock them in place and some other stuff was going on. I had to sacrifice the hex nut on the bottom. I also had to tape the entire thing up and get two vises and some hammers, a torch and oil to separate these parts!

I did not do a complete disassembly. The second spring system is in the silver section and I don’t think we need to go that far.

If anyone recognizes parts from other props in Star Wars let me know! I don’t immediately see anything.

The main body is a soft cast metal.

A sparklets top actually sort of fits IN the lip of the canister. I’m not sure what the props seam line looks like, I supposed you could mill a lip on the top, or just not care haha

I didn’t realize how off the placement of the nozzle was. Is there a chance the nozzle is completely removed and used sideways to mount the hose?

I've been pretty certain that the undiscovered red cross knob piece is some sort of valve handle (they are often red and have the elongated stalk as seen on the astromech droid, as opposed to other things like gas caps, taps, etc. that are flat). This makes me think that piece is likely some obscure old aircraft valve handle.

Insane!! Please tell us how you managed to find this part??? Congrats on an awesome find. Wow
Ironically this was an accident, just like when I found my booster for my Obi wan saber.

I was trying to dig up more aircraft valves that included the episode 1 red button. I failed miserably and was zoning out, falling sleep, scrolling faster and faster and … I noticed the “flats” on the bottom at first glance. “Hold up” and I sat the **** up so pay more attention.

Now, I have NEVER seen another like this and I don’t know how rare it is… but after digging through the PAGES of hymatic instructions on eBay I couldn’t even find this one. (I used them to plan how to disassemble this, similar construction across all their valves. Had to use a propane torch, dremel and two steel vises and a hammer so.. it’s not easy)

A mold is in my immediate eye. Now, for real accuracy it would appear they molded the top and bottom and a couple greeblies all at once. I’m trying to document the included parts on both the falcon tank and the Dagobah tank. The bottom greeblies I think are the only extras. Do I mold this? Do I JUST mold the bottom so we can use real tops? I could just “half fill” a mold and cut off anything above the split line.

Thankfully, Chris shows us and I’ve seen it other places, there is no trimming needed for the seam line. The bottom is bigger than the top.

The cross knob… the valve idea is really interesting. I have ironically also seen like.. camera brackets from Germany with similar knobs but the stem is not as long. It’s so small! I didn’t really realize until recently how freaking small those parts are. The top is a half inch or like 12-13mm wide! Similarly the cross knob is tiny!

Also it seems the original square ish hole is still there on the cartridge holder. And the tube kinda squashes before entering the holder, anyone have any idea what that connection looks like? It doesn’t just go in.. the hose is squeezed onto something

Very interesting! An incredible find. I'll need to take more look over my other reference, I hadn't considered that they'd molded multiple parts together, but it makes perfect sense. I'd love to be in on a run of these if/when/however it happens.

Regarding the cross knob; I had the same thought about how small it is. This has been a consistent phenomena with every single part that I've ever obsessed over and then finally found; they always seem so tiny when they show up. With that in mind I've been thinking smaller for the cross knob as well and the closest modern equivalent that I've found is a safety valve knob from a heater. I also found an old G.I. joe that has a similar looking (albeit miniature) red knob on an old school diving helmet. Vintage diving/scuba stuff would make perfect sense for this prop, but I haven't found anything. Whatever it is, the length of the knob (and possibly the stamping on it) will likely be what gives us the hint we need.

Call me crazy, but I think the bottom of the tank was cut from something longer, and quite possibly kitchen equipment.

Take a look at this, there is a section with vertical ridges that's tucked under the connecting part. (from a 4k screencap)

and there MIGHT be a hole in that section too...

That particular tank looks like its from a vickers
