Unlimited Run Mal Reynolds Pistol - Firefly & Serenity Version (3D Printed Kit)

Re: Mal Reynolds Pistol - Super Summer Sale EXTENDED

I've got a kit ready to ship immediately!

The printer has been busy, I've got one of pretty much every kit I make in stock, ready to ship

Due to the overwhelming success of my Officer K pistol, turnaround time for everything is probably 3-4 weeks right now. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't order, because I print in order received, it just means that my usual <1 week turnaround isn't possible.

Re: Mal Reynolds Pistol (3D Printed Kit)

Hello Bodie27

By any chance do you remember what "gray filler" paint you used to complete your Mal Pistol?? I'm finally taking it out of the "to do" pile and I would like to avoid sanding too much of the finer lines as you did. Also did you ever post pictures of your completed build??

Thank You!!!

Very happy with mine. Just messing around with the paint and some Rub n Buff. I also used a grey filler undercoat that took away the need to sand some of the finer 3D lines. Was going to weight it with some lead sinkers in the grips and barrel but it just didn't seem to be enough before I glued it up. Does anyone have any good ideas? It's prob too late for this one but I like it to look at. Great job

Hello rgriesbeck

Is there anyway you can "refresh" these Assembly Guide Pictures??? I thought I saved them to my Home Hard Drive but they must have been lost in the "crash" I had a while back.

Thank You

Assembly Guide:

This is a pretty easy one to do, but remember sand, sand then sand some more. I usually start at 80, then 150 then 220 grit. Crazy or super glue is all you'll need to stick it all together.

1) After sanding, clean out the areas where to trigger and hammer fit.

2) Then what I did is using the spare piece of filament, cut 2 pieces that will go through one side of the gun through the trigger and into the other side. Do the same for the hammer, you may have to drill out the holes if they're a bit small. Once everything fits, glue the inner sides of the body and clamp it together. Don't glue to close to the trigger or hammer or you'll glue them in place.

3) That's really the biggest part. now just start assembling the pieces onto the body. Pick and choose which side pieces you want to make either the movie or TV gun

4) Assemble the 2 pieces that hold the clip in place, then glue it onto the body.

5) The barrel is a real tight fit, Sand and/or cut bits away until it slides into place, then glue.

6) Now it's just simply just gluing the rest of the pieces on, then using some filler to fill the seams. Then sand and paint.

Quick question to those who have already build the kit. Did you sand and fill before assembly, during assembly or afterward???

Thank You!!!
