That's a separate piece not included, as is the clamp (I've had the clamp for years at this point waiting for a saber).

Here is where mine is currently at. I need to tighten the clamp one turn to keep it where it needs to be. I used a slothfurnace card and one of Roy's d-rings.

I found a seller with pre-cut metal tape. I have to order it still, but I'm not sure if I want to add it. It's so pretty as is.

You are correct, it came with a ring. I had trouble getting it to fit and used another I had instead.
