Limited Run Anakin Starkiller Luke ROTJ Hero Lightsaber Sign up List (Signup closed. Production has begun)

I’ve come up with a solution to the activation and aux switch using the screw and slide switch.
Just waiting for KR sabers to deliver the switches

by any chance anyone here know where I can get switches here in the US like we use for the slide switch on the graflex?

I believe TheGraflexShop sells them under the name 'electrical side switch'.

Do you believe I’ve been looking since 8pm, after I posted I found these suckers on amazon.. I feel like such a fool

Thank you though, the listing even has their size so I can adjust the model

Mouser, Digikey, and Tedds are all great because (generally, or at least one of these) will let you search for components via specific parameters, and will often have a manufacturer spec sheet/ Dimensions diagram/ CAD model

Moving right along. I found some bits of brass tubing in my scrap pile which fit the holes in the black buttons, then wrapped some masking tape around them to provide a friction-fit to keep them snug in the control box holes. Just a temporary fix, until I decide whether to permanently affix them, or go for an FX build.

I’m extremely pleased with the Ace antique gold. It really is a perfect match, because it looks different in different lighting conditions, just like the hero.

After I cut the brass rails to side, I think I’ll take the leftover piece and expose it to some ammonia fumes to darken it and see how it looks. Alternatively, perhaps I’ll give it a shot of antique gold paint.
I just picked up a couple feet of it (that I think matches, guess I'll find out tomorrow when they're delivered) both because I'm not 100% happy with how my cuts turned out, and also because I want to play with aging them a few different ways

Keep us posted on the aging, I’m curious

Where did you grab the extra? My Lowe’s doesn’t have it anymore, I bought 2, 2 packs a few years back for another project and their lost in the shed some where

Never to be seen again

Euro: 3mm x 3mm

US: 1/8” x 1/8”

‘Some’ ACE hardware have a k&s fixture with it occasionally. The Albion Alloys stuff has a much sharper edge and I personally think (at 3mm) is the more accurate.

Start with a dremel to get close.

Sand the rest.

That's what I've done in the past and it's always good results.

I’m amazed by the quality and ingenuity of that hero recreation and the outcome and the speed with which you guys get it done.
I regret being dormant for much too long while only to wake up and find out I missed in on an AS run :(

Anyway, on the bright side can I ask you a question to which the answer is:»Not bloody likely!»

Is it a coincidence that Bonnie Tyler sang «I need a hero» the year ROTJ released?

Is there a "trick " to get the 3D printed canoe to fit in the ROTJ HERO control box? Mine doesn't seem to want to fit?

I had some trouble finding it until I watched you and AS's video and he mentioned hobby stores. Start looking there and it's pretty easy to find, since it doesn't seem like hardware stores carry it anymore. At least not so small

The videos are a blessing!! Unfortunately I think I am going to have to type a tutorial and get some screen grabs to supplement as it is going to be months before I can work on mine. Kudos for an amazing job guys!! Such dedication to the cause!
