An RPF Open Source 5 ft Millennium Falcon Build/Reference Thread. All Are Welcome

On the rear ventral map there are two areas that are quite elusive, marked here:

and enlarged here (best images I could find):

I've the impression there is also a Sheridan part (#A30) jamed in (top view below, on the pictures above seen from the side):

Also I don't think the hook/clamp thingie next to that on the starboard side is from 145 (Tamya Ford Elf)

or
1682519391883.png
or

since the clamp is facing in the wrong direction or the disc is too small/wrong position.
Rather Centurion, but I'm unsure about that either, clamp is too big:

Or maybe I'm missing some part in the 'Elf' sprue scans, also totally possible.

Ferrari maybe?

Take your pick… centurion is black sprue photos. Ferrari is chrome… that’s been established… duh. Haha!

Anyways looking at the ref I have, I’m not really sold on either of them. The face that the hook is attached to on Falcon is flat and dome shaped. These two parts have steps where the hook comes out. So…. Hmm? My kits are 1971 Ferrari, 1972 Centurion, 1971 Sheridan, what I think is a “1973” Elf, but you know how these kits go.

No more sidetrackin’ myself… I have to get this darned inventory done! Haha! (That’s probably a lie and I’m man enough to admit that. LOL!)

I'm leaning "Yardley"... For both hooks actually. I think the map is labeled as "Elf" for the other hook in that area too, but I actually think that both hooks are in both versions of Yardley. I'm working on something with this, because I think that other hook in that area might be labeled wrong. I'm checking the other parts there that are mapped as "Elf," but I don't see some of the other stuff in that area in Elf either. Give me a bit and I'll post my findings... I wish I would have just found the hook and moved on, but now I'm "Dug in like a Texas tick!" ...cue Jeopardy music...

Tamiya Ford Tyrell, you looked at this scans? (for the Elf) (I don't have access to my Kits at the moment so I can't look / help.

I have the physical kits here. All of them plus some. Just getting photos of the parts organized into a doc so I can "show my work." Kind of like math class back in the day. LOL

And speaking of Elf, I have the 6-wheeler here too. Lots of cool parts in that kit. It was buried here, and I had totally forgotten I had it for some reason. So I never go through that kit looking for anything, but I will now. LOL

Looks like the McLaren to me.

Good for you! Get outta here! LOL Have fun! I'm going to take a look at the Elf stuff. There will be a report when you get back if I notice anything else off right there. I don't think I checked McLaren yet, but it's probably the same part. But I do find both hooks in Yardley, just so you know.

Handed my plans for my armature to my shop teacher, so hopefully I'll have a frame in a few days.
Gosh I hope this goes well.

My translation is as follows, based on my own experience:
"Handed my plans for my armature to my shop teacher, so hopefully I'll have a frame in a few days."

TRANSLATION:
Handed my plans for my armature to my shop teacher, so hopefully in a few days I'll learn that I have to make it myself."

But again, that's just been my experience, and I really do: HOPE. THAT. I'M. WRONG.
