WOW! You guys have been busy while I've been away the last few weeks. Great job everyone!
Don't know if you know about this site. I use it all the time, to see what's been changed over the years. As far as this site there have been parts added in 2020. It hasn't been retooled as far as I know. The box and decals have changed but not the kit. I have the older kit. It's always good practice to get the vintage kit, if you can find and afford it, ; ) I don't know if they removed parts, so I didn't really answer the question, lol..Not sure where this question should go but;
Has anyone done a compare between the 2020 release of the AMT American LaFrance Ladder Chief (1204) and the original version (T-598)? I'm under the impression that 1204 kit has a lot of new parts, but is it still a suitable donor kit? Or do I still need the older T-598 version?
thanks
Yes...that was a real headache... the best to have a look at the kit itself. I have to check some notes how you can see if you have the right one.Thanks, yeah I am a regular contributor to scalemates. I think my user id there is #5 or something like that. As you said it shows that there have been changes, but doesn't go into details beyond that. It's actually what drove me to ask the question here.
I have the newest version from 2020, but will get the older kit and do a 1-1 check. I was just wondering if someone had already done that sort of thing or not.
thanks
Oh ok. Yea I don't know if they just added parts, or changed them. I think the kit scan that is out there is of the older kit. If you need any pics, let me know. I'm not sure if my kit is from the 70s, but judging by the look, it's vintage.Thanks, yeah I am a regular contributor to scalemates. I think my user id there is #5 or something like that. Thanks. I'll post better pics when it comes. It will be a bit as it's coming from Japan.That looks very very close john! good find.
Are you welding 3/4 pipe into the hole? Should be alright if you weld the supports into it. I'd guess an open hole might be an issue depending on the weight.I'm guessing drill a 3/4" hole in a 1" pipe for supports is a bad idea?
Second one maybe Centurion no° K9, cut?Manugu found a couple pieces we missed. These are on the bottom, starboard side. Any ideas?

Thanks. I should note the Aoshima King Tiger also comes with the treads.That's a GREAT discovery of a replacement that really does fit the bill -- impressive research.
