Alien / Nostromo Uniforms

OK, finally finished both sleeves and added the command wings. I'd just like to thank Mike and Jeff and Randy for making this little project pretty painless. Of course, a couple of my friends have seen it and want me to do one for them...

OK, a few posts up is a pic of my wife and my son Walker, who really liked helping out with my jacket project. He's only two-and-a-half, so "help" is a relative term, but he liked opening the various packages I'd get from Randy and Jeff and Mike and all, and he'd be there as I assembled and glued and dyed and ironed-on and all. And every time I put it on he says "Daddy! Jacket!" with what I take to be a small sense of pride of accomplishment.

So, when I saw a Baby Gap army jacket in the store, I found a use for the commercially-available but not-accurate patches I'd bought before I'd got Jeff's amazing work, and found another Christmas present for the lad. It's wrapped up, under the tree, right now, with a tag that says "To: Captain Walker From: Captain Dallas."

That looks great! I'm sure Capt. Walker will be very happy on Christmas day.
It might be a good idea to inspect your tree first to make sure there are no lurking face huggers.

Maybe a little O/T but I was really saddened by the recent death of Dan O'Bannon. I shall dedicate my jacket to him. Without his fantastic imagination, there would be no world of Alien.

Those D rings seems plastic to me too and I was told that they are footwear accessories. They use them for boots lacing.

I can't confirm anything 100%, but they look plastic to me. I did some measurements and they look like 3/8", too.

Thanks for the replys guys, I'm working on converting my PF flyers right now. I agree, they look plastic, I'm just having a hard time locating any

I don't believe they would be plastic, I always assumed they were metal D's just painted white. I could be wrong though.

Oh, has anyone done up an Ash shirt yet? I've poked around but only saw the white ones. It would be interesting to see a light blue one.

Cool, my high school math teacher back in the day looked just like Ian Holm. I used to call him Ash but he didn't get it.
