ALIEN Cafe build? (Cuz the coffee is the only thing GOOD on this ship)

Yeah I ended up at restaurant supply places searching pans and trays…

As to the PVC fittings, that’s the easiest part of this puzzle!

I started thinking about how to physically build the “frame”. Obvious wood- maybe 2x2’s but then covered with… MDF? Shaped with the router and coated in epoxy? I may divert and have a sink and one coffee station…

And do we think the cup holder is a custom shape?

(Ps in the restaurant stuff store I find all sorts of stuff that screams sci-fi set dressing!)

I believe the "bay" with the cup dispenser might be a different part of the galley. The opposite side for example? The majority of the images end on the left with a double column of "oven doors" (Unit B on the blueprint). The cup dispenser image starts with the "oven doors" on the right edge of the image. Alternately this image is flipped and there is just different set dressing? The reversed location of the cookie and cracker decal on the tubs support the flipped image theory. I believe the as-built may differ from the blueprint.

This image also shows the center unit with the doors pulled down. The blueprint provides the details of the door fronts.

I would fabricate the cupholder with a single plank. Use a hole saw to cut out the 10 openings. Split the plank down the center, offset the forward edge above the backward edge by the height of the middle(?) of the cup handle (measure tabletop to desired height on handle). Notch the front half to accept the cups' handles. Attach the two halves with PVC pipe cut to the correct shape (low in back higher in front) to cradle each cup. Put small separators and facing trim between the "tubes".

The view with the cup holder on the left doesn’t have the coffee cups above. Different area I guess.

The coffee cup holder I think layers of MDF could do nicely and capture all the details like the chamfers. It’ll be heavy though… maybe hollowing out the lower layers to shed weight would help.

The doors closed look to be flat cabinet doors with the same pattern as the lower ones (probably exactly the same) I still think the coffee station has roll doors (or made to look like roll doors)

Let’s see if we can get this off the ground.

I was eyeing a shipping crate that I think would provide those corner lights…

The coffee maker and grinder are big bucks so I’ve got my eyes peeled for a deal.

The door pattern I think some sort of mold needs to be done unless I start deviating and do an “inspired” design…

So many other things going on but I really want to do this!
