3D Printed Millennium Falcon Build

I think I'm calling the bottom done. Although I’m considering repainting the blast marks, but that would be a lot of work at this point.

Looking real good. It''s a lot of work painting the Falcon, literally days of masking and painting.

I wanted to ask what you used as an adhesive on your PLA? Ive found some success with cynoacrylates and quick drying epoxy but also had some issues even after scuffing the contact area and in larger pieces drilling plug holes to allow the adhesive in. Just nothing wants to adhere to it super well. So just curious what your method is?
Josh, you might be suffering some chemical residues that are interferring with the adhesives. Also, may be aged product not performing as well as it should. Often mechanical scuffing doesn't do the trick since the contaminants can still be on the surface. May take some searching and experimentation to find a good system for giving thorough cleaning of the mating surfaces.

This issue is less a problem with parts that use solvent "adhesives" (like styrene) since the solvent action tends to act as a cleaner - unless the contamination is pretty severe or the chemistry is such it actually interfers with the solvent action. Fortunately, once you have this sorted out and settle on an effective technique, you're usually 'good to go'. That is, until you start "playing" with new materials and have to go back 'into the lab'.

Regards, Robert
