Honestly, though, I do hope these ship sooner than later. I was hoping to get one for my dad for Father's Day, but that couldn't happen. I look forward to getting one myself.
TWC's products, at least to me, are certainly worth the wait-- it just hurts that people around the world have them, while the US customers are forced to wait with bated breath. At the end of the day, I hope this whole experience doesn't sour TWC on doing further Star Trek releases. I DO LOVE having Trek Tech that has real-world uses. I carry my communicator with me daily (although I'm glad I have the original-- the anniversary edition doesn't have as good sound clips). I'd love to see what else they can come up with and would really love for them to come up with an alternate use for the TOS phaser so that they can re-release it (not something they have ever indicated, but they HAVE said that the remote function isn't viable anymore).
I would happily carry my Tricorder into work with me! It seems so damned cool! The only thing I worry about is that the anticipation will get to be at such a fevered pitch that it might not actually be able to live up to my expectations..
