It just doesn't look right sitting in there like that. I wish they would have made it wider and maybe a little deeper if it was possible.
The compartment had to be modified to accommodate the battery, not like the filming props which were just empty boxes. Some concessions had to be made.It just doesn't look right sitting in there like that. I wish they would have made it wider and maybe a little deeper if it was possible.
Side to side movement I dont have an issue with to be fair, the rubber on the scanner prevents it from moving from side to side and I prefer the the dividers further apart as it seems to support it better (for me anyway) still good to know the third divider can be used like this too and would prevent it falling in between the two dividers. Thanks for sharing, it does look good tooThe 3rd divider can be used to hold the scanner snugly in the cradle. But yes… mine has rolled out a couple of times too when holding the Tricorder at an angle or horizontally. Don’t forget to take the scanner out when you calibrate the compass.

My scanner is hard plastic vs. rubber. I do have the Trek Classic scanner on order though.Side to side movement I dont have an issue with to be fair, the rubber on the scanner prevents it from moving from side to side and I prefer the the dividers further apart as it seems to support it better (for me anyway) still good to know the third divider can be used like this too. Thanks for these pics. I absolutely agree with you. However, instead of a curved holder, what would prevent us from making it flat, wouldn't that give the extra room so it sits upright...? What is the purpose of the curved holder?
That's my bad, I completely forgot about the battery because I'm not used to it being there in a tricorder lol!The compartment had to be modified to accommodate the battery, not like the filming props which were just empty boxes. Some concessions had to be made.

Coletrain66 sorry I forgot that the battery is positioned where it is on this, that's why its shaped as it is so no you wouldn't be able to square it off.Can the door inside be modified to hold the scanner upright like it's supposed to be? Is there enough room for that modification?
That will teach me for not taking something apart before commenting hahaYes I was wondering.
It would reduce the size of the door, which might not give a clearance to let it stand upright and close the tricorder door. But in looking at it from the 2 pics above. Flat-Bottom would just sit flat on the battery. Correct?
You can try emailing trekclassic@hotmail.com. He has reissued the scanner but not sure if any are left. I bought one back in FebruarySo my question would be... WHERE DID YOU GET THE SCANNER?
It's intended to bend that way, that's why the back wall is molded so thin--if it didn't bend, there would be no way to insert the dividers.Additionally I had to file a little bit off the dividers clip points as it felt a bit too tight for my liking. I was worried the dividers may snap inserting and removing them and you could visibly see the back of the storage tray bend when they were inserted. Better safe than sorry I guess.

What's the big deal on how the scanner sits in the compartment? As long as it fits with the door closed I'm happy. I could not get the med scanner that I have to fit in the MR Tricorder and still close the door so the way TWC did it makes a lot of sense to me.
