In other notes, yes, the strap is quite short. I'm sure an aftermarket will open up for new straps once more tricorders reach the market. They measured the strap on the Jein Frankencorder, so I'm sure it's accurate to that prop.
Yes, it's hard to push the buttons without the hood turning one way or the other. But I've almost figured out the right touch. Almost.
I LOVE that the bridge button sound effects play when you work the buttons.
Also, a warning: If you go spelunking through the Service screen, beware that the USB Update button sends the tricorder into some kind of weird Blank Screen with Red Lights of Death. It's a very scary moment. Fortunately, it just resets after a minute or two and turns itself back on. Whew!
Pictures and video coming, though the video will be awhile--two shots call for the med scanner, and that doesn't ship till at least Monday. Meanwhile, I've got some shooting and editing to do.
