The Wand Company TOS Tricorder is coming!

I want to give a short review. It is awesome! It comes with a presentation box and the scanner stickers and plaque. You will not be disappointed. I also have the original DStines. Runs off a battery. The motor is quiter in the new version that charges with the c cable. I think that it is well worth the money. But again, you need the science scanner as well. Both should fit in perfectly.

Where is the USB-C charging port located? Or do you remove the battery to charge it?

It comes with a suction cup suck to the bottom and turn left. Take the bottom cap off and The USB c port is right there.
I was wondering what that thing was in the photos! What a great solution to hide the port! I can't wait to get mine! No tracking number yet, so I'm on pins and needles!

The only possible better solution would have been wireless charging, but I don't know how feasible that even is in a little med scanner like that.

Do we even know for sure that the studio scanner prop actually fit in the tricorder? McCoy always took it out of his pouch, not his tric.

According to asalaw their email says it fits the wand tricorder, but I'm going to wait until someone who has the wand tricorder in hand and has one of these scanners and says it fits before ordering one.

I know I've seen him take it out of there in at least one episode, but right now I can only find a shot in This Side of Paradise where he appears to tuck it in there during a camera move from him to Kirk. You can just see the edge of it peeking out over his hand.

That's fine, but they do have a limited stock--it's just stock they had in a warehouse since 2008 and put new electronics into. I'm pretty sure it'll fit, but if it doesn't, I'm not going to cry about it. It's still an amazing scanner.

Found it--Man Trap. Here it is.

I was thinking the same thing. I was always sorry I missed out on it.

Here's what the email says about the scanner:

Hello Fellow Collectors,

GREAT NEWS!!!

After decades of hiatus, Trek Classic has rejoined its relationship with Starfleet R&D (D. Stines).

Together, we produced many of the most iconic Trek prop replicas like...

The Spectrum Analyzer, Heartbeat Reader, Cardio Stimulator, Communicator kit, Mirror Universe Officer's Dagger, Dedication Plaque and many others!

Today it's my great honor to present to you the return of the Medical Scanner Mark I !

We originally produced this item in 2008.

The original run was a very small quantity. Small because we ran out of computer chips and could not source them again at the time.

Cut to, today. We originally ran up a number of bodies that have set dormant in the warehouse for 17 years!

We decided to revisit this project a few months ago and have been retooling all of the internal parts.

We discovered that technology has improved greatly since 2008 and it has benefited this project immensely.

Basically everything is smaller, more efficient and longer lasting. Under testing the battery has a run time of nearly an hour and charging time runs about 15 min.

So far we have devoted several hundred hours redeveloping and redesigning this prop to make what I will call, "The Final Word" on the Medical Scanner Mark I. No one will ever produce one that is more accurate!

Just the assembly time of each piece involves many hours of labor.

Each piece has been tested and retested to make sure that you receive a Museum Quality replica that you will proudly display at the center of your Collection.

Yep, it's been confirmed to fit in the TWC tricorder. I was super pumped to see that they still had some left and snatched one up immediately. I also love that they're serial numbered by "Desilu Prop Department" inside the battery compartment. Nice little touch. Really well done.

I just sent them an email about buying one. As I said before I always regretted missing out on the DStines scanner and knowing this is an updated version of it I could not pass up on it.
Nice, Roger got back to me within just a few minutes and had a tracking number for me about a week later. They're actively building up the remaining batch of parts from the original 2008 run and once they're gone, that's it.

Here's a really thorough review of it.
