The music *IS* music. It tells a story so well, that I forget these are actual musical instruments. This is one of the scores that is so specific and iconic that it just stands out as being beyond mere sound effects.

Static and bespoke, hand-made by an artisan. Most of that price is labor, plus his fee for designing them, plus his overhead. If you went to any industry prop maker today and asked him to build up two similar units, by the time you paid for his labor and shop time, you'd get a similar bill to that $2,708.26 per unit, if not more. Not a fair comparison as the TOS ones were static.
Yep. For all of us old farts !Was this done mostly for original TOS fans??

10. Toupee. If you look at the Star Trek Universe on the whole …TOS merchandise is created the most and sells the most over any other Star Trek series. Captain Kirk is King! …..NG and the Shakespearian trained drama queen Picard comes in at a paltry second. As for the others? Well, their in the back stretch chasing butterflies.

Technically, it's Shatner who wears the toupee, not Kirk. But if we're talking about the actors instead of the characters, then it should be noted that Patrick Stewart wore a curly wig in I, Claudius.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the best shot we ever got on the show of the tricorder that the TWC version recaptures. We are still talking about tricorders, yes?
