The official Modern Warfare 2 thread

Been playing the campaign for a bit. It's really fun so far. The "disturbing" level was definitely disturbing. I am going to be playing multiplayer in a little bit. My xbox live gamertag is Foxbat Killer. I kinda suck, but it's still fun as long as I'm not playing with a bunch of little kids who like to talk smack.
 
I'll accept them when I get on....I was playing my nephews game while he was at school :lol My 17 yo nephew is a monster!! I watched him go 57 and 3 in a team death game today!!!! HOLY CRAP!!! He called in 2 chopper gunners...it was soooo sick!! We took a pic of the screen:lol

I'll be picking mine up soon though....And yes...I couldn't join a party at all today.
 
has anyone gone online multi-player yet with the PC game?

is the game really ****ed or what :confused :confused:cry


omg just read some of the bad reviews, looks like i might have to send this turd back, what were IW thinking??!!!!!1!!!!

I have the PC version, mainly grabbed it to see how my new computer I just built would handle the graphics (intel i7 quad-core 920, 12g ram, bfg 1792 gddr3 gtx 295, & Win7 64bit) since the only 'stress' test I've tried is CAD models with Alibre .

Installation was pita. It didn't autoinstall from the dvd's, it kept trying to force a download (at 12+ hours est). Finally got it to install off the dvd's after messing with it for @40 minutes.

Single Player campain has been good so far but the multiplayer sucks. No party chat, and granted I'm way out of FPS practice, but with thier matchmaking... it makes it pretty hard to get into a match of people just slightly better than you to force you to learn to get better.

I played some Multiplayer and some Special Ops. Multiplayer was a lot of fun. I really enjoy all the new stuff they have added with one exception. I hate the riot shield. It's really annoying and I feel it is too easy to kill someone with it and at the same time too bullet-proof.

Special Ops was fun. Played that with a friend online. The AC130 level was sweet. Really cool having one person as a gunner and the other on the ground.
 
I finally got it working. You'd think it would work like a PC game where you just look for the game and click an icon. No... you have to figure out to run it through Steam. :angry Also it was dumbed down by taking out the ability to lean around corners and select fire on you rifle. I guess because the gamepads only have so many buttons.

Anyway the SP is pretty cool so far. The "disturbing level", while making sense in the context of the game, seems like Infinity Ward is just handing out free ammo to the hysterical anti game crowd. There's lots of ways they could have had it work without that level. Anyone want to place bets on how long it will take the mainstream media to start going ape-poo over this?

It's easy to get around the riot shield. When the guy comes at you, sprint around him then knife him in the back. He can't turn worth crap.
