The official Modern Warfare 2 thread

Alright, I just finished this game. While it was amazingly short, it was VERY well put together and engrossing. I could not put the damned campaign down! Some scenes had me thinking along the "Grab ya by the arm" thing too, others had me saying "What...again?!"

I can't wait to try Multiplayer tomorrow. Aww...holy hell, it says I am only 50.7% complete with the campaign! Well, tomorrow then!

I officially hate the Estate map and I'm not too fond of Wasteland either.

I hate the city maps. There are just too many places for people to camp.

Unlock the thermal scope for Wasteland. It's easier to spot the snipers. I put up a 53 kill, 18 death game doing that.

You are obviously a better player than I. That being said I've unlocked the thermal scope for the UMP45. I like the city levels as I am a CQB guy. UAV jammer works great on campers. I can tolerate wasteland but I despise estate.

The host migration rocks! People just quitting because they are about to lose was a major problem with the last one.

I don't understand why you would quit when you're about to lose. It counts as a loss anyways and you lose out on any match bonus points you'd receive.

Okay, I just played my first few online games, what's with not being able to stick with your party?
:thumbsdown

Anyway, if anybody's playing on the xbox, hit me up and we can shoot each other in the face... lovingly.

Strange - I've played a ton of multiplayer games over the past week but have yet to play Sub Base and another map (can't remember the name offhand). However, I've played Estate about a zillion times - it's getting a bit stale.

i just wish I could find an open game, i get an hour for lunch and im lucky if I can play one match in that time

I believe you can stay on the same team with your party, you just can't party chat so that you don't give away positions while you're dead.

My friends and I were just talking about this this morning. There are 15 or so maps, we keep getting the same 4 over and over.

well modern warfare has another thing they like to repeat...

I guess arm fetish happened about 3 times

But bingo fuel or helicopter running out of fuel happened a lot more...The first game alone had about 6 times or more saying helicopter running out of fuel, and this game said it too several times...

what do you guys think about the museum? I died fast within seconds of my first try

What purpose does collecting enemy intel serve? In the previous game it unlocked cheats, but I can't figure out if this does anything but provide busy work.

Also playing through SP again it occurred to me that military vehicles are supposed to be hardened against EMP so would that have even happened in reality?

I got this 2 weeks ago, played it a total of about 3 hours and I am not really that impressed with it. I think it's okay. But I think the multiplayer is lacking a bit. I loved COD4, but this game isn't all that it was cracked up to be.

Anyone else feel this way?

It's lacking some of us. I was on a bit Friday and a lot of Saturday. The only one I ran into was Hollywood SRT. Again, the campaign story was killer, but way too short. I am still getting my pinky toe into the multiplayer.

They added a ton of stuff to the multiplayer. Jsut curios, what do you feel it's lacking?

I guess what I mean is that lacking in the excitement of the game. I actually think they added too many things. What I liked about COD4 was that you had to earn the "good" guns and perks. I am only a level 13 and I could beat anyone that has already prestiged twice.

I don't know if it's me or what, but the maps seem to be lit in a soft glow and don't have the hard real world feel that COD4 had.

I played for about 45 minutes last night and I was bored after about 20 minutes.

I haven't played the campaign, I actually never even finished the COD4 campaign but maybe that part of the game is better.
