The official Modern Warfare 2 thread

I think one thing its lacking is our old group that used to play everynight. And also this is just a polished and updated COD4 where as COD4 was the suprise. We knew what to expect going into this so it doesnt seem as incredible.

I will be on tonight after about 6 Pacific
I was busy all weekend so i didn't get on.

I got on the other day with the group & it was the " let's back out & pick up so&so" routine :rolleyes. I spent 20 minutes waiting for the group to get it together & finally just gave up on the group and played with randoms.
I hate playing with randoms, but at least I'm playing.

I think this game is twice as good as COD4 in the multiplayer department and as good as COD4 in the campaign department...and I loved COD4!

yeah that was with us, I take partial resposibility. Apparently I needed to open some ports on my router, its much easier to get into matches now. Although I think some of it is on the server side and their ability to handle all the traffic they are having. But it should at least be easier for us now.

I guess what I mean is that lacking in the excitement of the game. I actually think they added too many things. What I liked about COD4 was that you had to earn the "good" guns and perks. I am only a level 13 and I could beat anyone that has already prestiged twice.

I don't know if it's me or what, but the maps seem to be lit in a soft glow and don't have the hard real world feel that COD4 had.

I played for about 45 minutes last night and I was bored after about 20 minutes.

I haven't played the campaign, I actually never even finished the COD4 campaign but maybe that part of the game is better.

Campaign is short. I finished it on Hardened in about 6 hours.

Multiplayer is alright so far. My friends and I have been playing Domination a lot lately which has become pretty fun.

If you want a challenge, try the Special Ops missions. Some are ridiculously hard.

i mostly use the M4 with bling pro (FMJ and Scope, either ACOG or Therm), cold blooded pro, and steady aim pro. Im a run and gun kind of guy. My secondary weapon is always a javelin rocket to take out heli's and UAV.

Some times I use the WA2000 with bling pro (heartbeat sensor and silencer), cold blooded and steady aim pro to get the longer breath.

I usually only play hardcore match types.

Hey guys.I dabble a bit making my own custom themes for my PS3 and made my first MW2 one.Fully customised MW2 XMB icons and weapon icons with 15 randomly rotating HD MW2 backgrounds.
You can download it here:
www.megafileupload.com/en/file/160626/MW2-Theme-p3t.html
For those unfamiliar with installing themes:
Create a folder named PS3 on a memory card or flash drive and in that folder create another folder THEME and place the downloaded file in this folder.Plug your card/drive into your USB port on your PS3 and go to theme settings on the XMB.Choose install and find your file on the flash drive/usb reader and voila!
Please give me your feedback on this guys as I want to know what you think!

I play regular team deathmatch. Right now I'm using the UMP45 with bling pro (scope and FMJ). I've unlocked all attachments and mastered it. The last thing to do is get 250 headshots with it, then I will have the fall camo and will be done with all the challenges for that weapon. It's not so great for long range kills, but I am comfortable with it and I have been waiting to unlock the M16 (level 40). I'm at level 37 right now, so when I get to Level 40 I will switch the M16 and just go to work on unlocking all of its attachments.

Just got this game in today! I guess I'll start with the campaign to get a feel for it... Any multiplayer advice would be appreciated though, as that's the stuff I really enjoy!

It's really all about practice. Learn the weapons, maps, and perks and find the combo of weapons/perks that works best for you. As you play more you'll become familiar with the maps and start to know exactly where some players are going to go on the map, making them easy targets.

I'd find the weapon that you are most comfortable with and just get to know it really well and unlock all its attachments for bonus XP.

Get some friends together and start a clan. Plan out your strategy prior. Don't just run out expecting to do well. There are some really good clans out there. I'm a good player and I usually average 20 or 30 kills against 5-10 deaths. The last 4 games I've played solo, I've had more kills than the rest of my entire team combined.

It pretty much sucks getting your *** handed to you every single game.

You'll know you're getting good when half the idiots on the server say you're cheating and/or camping.

I never understood the idea of complaining about people camping. To me, I love it...you know where to go to kill them. Everyone has their own strategy, if they want to camp let them...it's not their fault that you keep dying!

I have a problem with people who truly camp. There are snipers and while they annoy me I don't consider them campers. Campers are the people who just wait underneath the stairs or lay prone inside a room and never move. That to me is very weak.

That just doesn't get to me at all. I know right where to go to kill them from then on, because usually they go right back once they have re-spawned. I'd kill them, run around a bit and head back...usually they were right back again. The only thing that got on my nerves in COD4 was that the last few months people increasingly used glitches on "overgrown" and "creek" where they could hide inside of a rock. Can't see them unless you know where they are and you could usually only see the tip of the gun poking out, but you could do nothing to kill them except an air strike. An sometimes that wouldn't work. THAT was true cheating.

It's fine with me if people want to camp. Usually it's in the same place or a popular place. This makes them easier to find after you respawn.

Kill me once shame on you, kill me twice shame on me.

Spawn camping is another story. I hate sniper maps for the most part too. It gets so boring. You can't run and gun in sniper maps without getting pummeled. If you snipe as well .....yawn.

I've pretty much taken to just hiding in corners in free for all. It's the only way I can get kills. otherwise. Spawn, die. Spawn, die.

Yeah but if you've got a killstreak going and a camper ruins it, it can be quite frustrating. Also, usually another teammate has killed them off by the time I get back to the spot they were camping.
