Thanks! I was amazed when the thing we all thought was a bevel started to appear. I did your thing with the sharpie dots too, and that really helped shape the dents to the prop

I'll start my own thread soon, but heres a collage of where im at now. there was a clearance sale at my lowes that included rustoleum professional enamel and.... its hard to weather. i had to resort to a screwdriver and wood chisel two hours after spraying!

Mine is still sitting in a box, in pieces, along with some other odds and ends that are wholly unrelated to sabers - I'm glad I can find the time to go to the bathroom a couple of times a day right now.

So many of you guys are "getting'er done" and with stellar results. Nice! Keep the photos coming.

I realized I mistakenly colored the chipping and not the whole windvane. So I took a foam brush, bob rossed my two paints together and dabbed it on. I’ll scrape some off to show the silver tomorrow.

this picture looks a bit weird, it’s not really golden in color but dark black/brown with a hint of brass. Maybe it’s the flash

Once I got 2 Debra you could really see the “bevel” amazing how that worked out didn’t it! I love it!

I would've missed the 'autocorrect' altogether if you guys hadn't mentioned it. I figured halliwax had already named his V2 "Debra".

Now all we need to do is refer to halli's lightsaber as 'Debra' every time we ask him how his progress is coming along on painting and weathering her.

Be careful not to roll over in bed tonight and accidentally activate Debra halliwax . We wouldn't want you injuring yourself with her before you finished your tutorial! :lol

I love mine. All I need to do is put the tape on the neck and I am done. I’ve shown it off and everyone that I’ve shown it to and the pictures of the real prop has been super impressed. Thank you Dan! This prop has a place of honor in my collection. Now I need to figure out what to do with your first run V2. I might get bold and turn it into a shared stunt. Maybe I’ll get bold and turn it into a Kenobi ANH stunt.
