How did you get the dent without marring the surface? That was always my problem when using tools to do it.

I don't know what Halliwax used, but a 2x4 worked adequately for me with SH's V2 - I plan to do the same here. Multiple ways to get this done, but I put a piece of 2x4 into vise (edge side up) and then smacked the emitter head onto it while holding the complete saber mostly vertical & upside down.

A hammer, being made of steel (which is considerably harder than the aluminum of the saber) will probably not get the soft result desired. :)

I have a mallet that has a rubber side and a hard plastic side. I haven’t gotten to this step though.

Maybe it might make sense to start a new build thread in the main SW forum where builders can share tips and tricks.

I fear that a lot of good info might get lost if it starts on pg 34 here

Been working on the thread for almost 2 hours... trying to make this clean and organized... there’s a lot of info and pics, I really don’t want it bumbling...

Give me another hour or so lol

The saber is designed this way. check out my post a few pages back - I used a steel rod and shaft collar to tighten the emitter/neck

If you want it tight you can sand down the bottom of the steel part. Would take just a few seconds on a belt sander. I shortened mine and can now select to have it spin or tight.

Just take a little at a time and check in between sandings. Also remember remove the burrs and keep the threads clear.

I used a butane torch and rubber mallet to get the bent emitter plate! Took it off just like halliwax did, chewed up the bottom a bit though in the vice. Meh, weathering. I smeared some aluminum black on it to prep for paint tomorrow!E4D4D35B-FE25-4D4E-95E6-76257DF87FCA.jpeg
